"Because Healthy Cooking CAN taste AMAZING!" Born in the northern province of Thailand and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Anil Jaya has been exposed to delicious multi-national cuisine her whole life. Anil began experimenting with cooking at an early age and after obtaining a culinary arts degree in New York City, Anil eventually began working as a chef in restaurants in the prestigious Hell's Kitchen corridor in NYC. After settling down and having two daughters Anil decided that the hustle and bustle of the restaurant life was to stressful and began cooking to develop healthy recipes that her friends and family could enjoy. The success of her first book "Indian Cooking" sparked the idea to write more books that focused on healthy, tasty, and most importantly AFFORDABLE cuisine that families around the world could enjoy. Anil's main focus is producing these high quality books that provide busy people the luxury of preparing healthy meals in a minimal amount of time. In her spare time Anil enjoys hanging out with her family, curling up to a good book, and of course creating new meal ideas from her kitchen!
