Anne Clermont

Anne is both an unlikely author and an obvious one. Running a 75-horse equestrian center with her husband, while raising two young daughters, doesn’t leave much time for reading novels, let alone writing them. But there was something about living in the mountains of the San Francisco Bay Area and the magic of horses that has inspired her – not just now, but ever since her first trail ride at the age of sixteen – to write down her unique perspective on the world. Born in Kraków and raised outside of Toronto, Anne holds a Baccalaureate in Science degree with specialized honors in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph in Canada, and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California. Prior to running an equestrian center, Anne’s experience ranges from animal behavior to animal nutrition to cancer research. She has been published in a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals – including Nature Biotechnology. Once she realized her passion, Anne pursued her first writing via the Writing Salon in San Francisco, and continued with classes and workshops with multiple bestselling authors. She has participated in conferences in Southern California, San Francisco, Maui and the Bahamas. She continues her education via books on writing, classes, group critiques and conferences. But, perhaps, of all the experience she’s leaned into, her most meaningful work was as a young woman cleaning horse stalls, twelve hours a day, seven days a week – all to cover her dressage lessons. It’s there where she developed her keen observation skills — of both horses and humans — that inform her insightful writing.
