Robert M. Pressman, Ph.D., ABPP, is a licensed psychologist, board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Family Psychology and designated a Life Member of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Pressman is a bilingual pediatric psychologist with a robust family and community oriented practice. For 46 years he has treated over three thousand children ranging in age from 3 to 19. He has never had a suicide and has only one first time brief psychiatric hospitalization of a patient. He attributes this unusual record to being constantly available to his patients and to training parents in the use of the Magic Question Method. He is the author of several landmark books most notably the co-author of the Narcissist Family, Diagnosis and Treatment, one of the bestselling psychiatric books of all time; and more recently the Learning Habit, a Ground Breaking Approach to Homework and Parenting based on his research of 43,000 American Families, the largest study of its kind ever conducted and published. Dr. Pressman has trained in martial arts for four decades. He is a fifth degree black belt and teaches karate to children, teens, and young adults. He is married to Stephanie. Both are authors and licensed psychotherapists. They have three children and four grandchildren. Living in Rhode Island, the Ocean State, they are all avid beach goers.
