Prior to joining The Athletic, I spent 13 years as a senior writer for ESPN Insider, and previously worked in the front office for the Toronto Blue Jays. I also write about boardgames, books, food, music, movies, and occasionally other topics. I'm also an obsessive maker of lists and rankings. I'm a native New Yorker, but have lived all over the country and currently live in northern Delaware with my blended family. I've written two books so far, The Inside Game (2020) and Smart Baseball (2017).
