He previously wrote columns and covered professional football for The Kansas City Star, and before that, he was a reporter with The State in Columbia, S.C. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Babb’s work often examines sports’ intersections with culture and politics. His first book was the widely acclaimed Not A Game: The Incredible Rise and Unthinkable Fall of Allen Iverson.
