Lyotanka Sioux

Lyotanka Sioux

Lyotanka Sioux was born in 1972 near Minneapolis, within the largest Sioux reservation in Minnesota. Lyotanka's childhood is marked by the ancient tribal rhythms that her parents jealously guarded. From an early age, Lyotanka was educated in the recognition and processing of medicinal plants, which have been used for centuries by her people, to cure every illness. Lyotanka is the first woman in her family who decided to open up to the Western world and share all that she has learned in herbalism. The author has a degree in Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota and still runs her herbalist shop. Every day, she engages in the production of natural medicines. Lyotanka loves to walk outdoors in her free time, searching for new spices and medicinal herbs to use in her preparations. Lyotanka has maintained a very strong bond with her traditions and her family despite her great openness to the outside world. The author's mission is to guide her readers in a path of awareness about alternative cures; by disseminating her people's ancient knowledge, she is helping thousands of people re-establish an authentic contact with their bodies and detoxify from the abuse of modern drugs.
