Publisher's Summary

100 fathoms below....

The depth at which sunlight no longer penetrates the ocean.

1983. The US nuclear submarine USS Roanoke embarks on a classified spy mission into Soviet waters. Their goal: to find evidence of a new, faster, and deadlier Soviet submarine that could tip the balance of the Cold War. But the Roanoke crew isn't alone. Something is on board with them. Something cunning and malevolent.

Trapped in enemy territory and hunted by Soviet submarines, tensions escalate and crew members turn on each other. When the lights go out and horror fills the corridors, it will take everything the crew has to survive the menace coming from outside and inside the submarine.

In the dark.

Combining Tom Clancy's eye for international intrigue with Stephen King's sense of the macabre, 100 Fathoms Below takes listeners into depths from which there is no escape.

Trapped in sub with deadly supernatural creatures

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The audio is well done and I spent most of my spare time this past weekend listening to it. The tension starts early and doesn't let up. The worst (best) part is, the reader knows there is something creepy hiding on the sub while the crew is clueless and just thinks a couple people are sick or maybe someone is losing it.

Excellent Surprise! This is worth the listen.

I was really surprised by how good this was; it hit me out of left field; it was an impulse buy, and I do not regret it one bit, it was enjoyable all the way through; lots of fun. I hope the authors write another!

Nice Little Find

I pre odered this book and I'm really glad that I did. It's a nice twist to a old horror movie tale.

Just fun

Great story the transition from a spy novel to supernatural was well done. The feeling of claustrophobia really sets as things get tense towards the Latter half of the story. It was fast pace scary and well written.

I definitely worth a listen to.

Good Read

Good overall weekend read. Different “monster” book in terms of location and tempo. Narration was ok but the reader had trouble with different voices.

Submarine Horror Story

This was a FUN book! The narrator did an AMAZING job with the various voices and the accents. I’ve found a new favorite author and narrator! I almost became a naval submariner myself, so the descriptions of life on a submarine were even more fascinating to me! I also watched the Call of the Wolf French film on Netflix halfway thru reading/listening to this book which gave me an even better understanding of life aboard a cramped submarine. If you like suspense, horror, and military themed novels then THIS book is for you!!

Very unsettling

Got to say that it was better than I was expecting. The narrator could have been a bit more distinctive between the voices, but overall nailed it.

Highly recommend the story!

30 days of night on a submarine.

Claustrophobic, tense fun and full of characters you genuinely don't want to die. Great narration. The characters don't tend to make stupid decisions, since their actions are driven by necessity due to the confines of the submarine. They're resourceful and as a science teacher, I loved the light bulb moment about a way to potentially harm their seemigly invincible adversaries. however once everyone knows what's actually going on I feel it loses the horror aspect and turns into more of a clunky action flick. Still a great deal of fun though.

Not bad for a free listen

OK - so one can imagine being in a confined space with a malevolent force but this novel really does stretch credibility. Can say very little without spoilers so I am not going there - but it kept me entertained for a few hours.

Surprisingly good

I really enjoyed this book, an original plot in an interesting setting.
I really liked learning about the world of submarines and liked how invested I became in the fate of the submariners battling their foe.
The ending was exactly what I hoped for!

Beware the green Eyes

If Stephen King had written Hunt for the Red October
I've not read many vampire books if I'm honest but I did like this one a lot well written the story had a good pace to it and the setting was great and the charters even better would 100% recommended it.

A fun listen

Overall this was a fun listen, it had plenty of vampires and kept the suspense going. Characters were well created and the whole thing kept you listening. Credulity was stretched in a few places as a few members of the crew survived when I was sure they wouldn't, being saved in the nick of time, but if they had not been, then the story would have been much shorter. Taken for what it is - a light read and fun. I enjoyed the narrator too - I had not heard him before but he did a good job.

Well.....I wasn't expecting that!!

I quite like naval stories so when I seen a picture of a submarine on the front cover, I didn't read the info I just started listening. All was good until some sinister stuff started happening to the crew members. Who on earth would have thought of a vampire outbreak on a submarine? certainly not me that's for sure. If I had read the info I most definitely would have skipped this and found another book to listen to but I'm actually glad I didn't because I kinda liked it. it was different but not over the top stupidly so. There are some decent storylines and it's worth a listen. Give it a go.

90% great shame the ending let's it down

I wasn't sure what to expect from this in the beginning. It took a little bit to get through the first few chapters as the writer hung maybe a little too long for my personal tastes on explanation of us navy short names x/o being executive officer and C.O.B being chief of the boat and such. If you have watched anything like the hunt for red October then you're aware of these terms so I felt it frustrating.

The story plans out well and kept me interested on my long drives. but the ending was urgh.... predictable about two and a half hours from the end.

did this lessen my overall enjoyment of the book.. I don't think so.

worth a listen certainly.
