Story
Two classic stories of finding love where you least expect it! Marriage Wanted: As far as Nash Davenport's concerned, marriage isn't shelter from the storm - it is the storm. He's a divorce attorney, himself divorced, who believes no married couple can live up to their wedding vows. My Hero: Would-be romance writer Bailey York has already failed twice at love. She thinks men are wonderful to read and write about, but that's it. Which is probably why she has such difficulty creating a hero for her novel. What she needs is a real-life example.

Very Light Chick Lit
I found this book on sale for $4.99 as the first of a series and tried it out. It's fun, but nothing really happens in the book, so if you are looking for action, look elsewhere. This is about relationships, and can grow a bit tiresome. But, it was definitely worth $5.

Drama
It was difficult to guess what this novel was going to unravel just from reading the short description, however I found it enjoyable. It weaved in all the necessary elements of a great drama - deceit, new love, heart break, new opportunities, etc. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone in the mood for a fairly light read.

Makes you feel Good kind of book.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Although I love Murders, Mysteries & Action books, sometimes you just need to take a break & find something homey to listen to. Debbie McComber is one of my goto authors when I'm not feeling good, when I'm wrapped in my jammies & laying on the couch. It's that mug of hot cocoa, the pat on the shoulder & your Mom's homemade soup kind of story that makes you feel good in the end, no matter what.
What did you like best about this story?
It always works out in the end. Your kids can listen with you & you won't be embarrassed. Your Granny can listen & love them. My husband doesn't like violence on tv but he can sit for hours & listen to Debbie's books without a problem. He's always calling for more.
Any additional comments?
If you like 19 kids & counting, the Little Couple, 7th Heaven and all oldies like the shows on ME TV & Vision, these stories are for you. They tell a good story, there's rarely any violence & it always works out in the end. It may not work out like you thought, but it always works in the end.

Small Town, Down Home
I really liked the story which includes several families in the small town of Cedar Cove. I appreciated the struggles of the young military couple who had lost their baby girl who was born prematurely. I found myself getting angry at the wife for not "sticking it out", since I am a 22 year veteran "army wife" myself. I cheered for the judge who caused the young couple's divorce to be delayed . . . and happily listened to the progress or lack of progress over the months that followed. This book, like some other reviewers have noted, is not made of HEAVY stuff . . . but sometimes I like that, normal people, normal problems, compassion and healing, and just settling in for a good listen. This book fits the bill nicely.

Cedar Cove coming to Hallmark TV!!
Debbie Macomber's Cedar Grove series starter, 16 LIGHTHOUSE ROAD, is soon to be a Hallmark Movie. Reading the book first is a must for me. Once again, Macomber serves up a compelling woman's relationship book that introduces us new 'friends'.
Olivia lives at 16 Lighthouse Road, and centered the story as a judge who makes an interesting ruling. A young military couple is seeking a divorce after their baby daughter is born prematurely and dies shortly thereafter. Olivia made a bold decision by requiring them to try working through their issues even though both people wanted the divorce.
Olivia' Mom, daughter, and best friend are also involved in difficult and/or interesting life situations. As these different woman share their lives in this book, the reader becomes more and more emotionally involved with their loves, problems, and real-life situations. The books becomes more like a letter from a friend than novel. Thank goodness, Macomber has already written more 'letters' from Cedar Cove. Now I'm anxious to see how this book plays out in a movie, staring Audie MacDowell.

Good Story, Lousy Narrator
Many characters, every one with an interesting story. I enjoyed the story enough to continue with the series, but the narrator sounded just like a telephone operator, mechanical and impersonal. I will read the rest of the series the old fashioned way.
