Took me back to Latin class and the origin of word

Transports the reader as if suspended in a Drone observing the characters. Descriptive and engaging.

Good listen

Fantastic description of daily life and humor of the Roman people. It does a great job of showing the dichotomy of learnedness and barbarity that characterized their society. It also shows how little we really change as humans.

Outstanding!

Absolutely lovely book well written, well researched and well delivered! Highly recommend it to anyone who is a student of Roman history or simply wants to peer under the toga of Roman society.

Only plays to the half-way point

The book source is alright, that sort of fictionalized history that is popular. The reader, Michael Page, gives quite a performance as a kind of toff who seems to be doing a comic impression of himself, Together they produce a mediocre product.

What was even more ridiculous, however, was the cloud player that keeps getting stuck. I tried various remedies, including re-booting the whole thing. That actually worked, but not for long - I've given up, as the ratio of reward : effort isn't adequate. How does a player get stuck in the cloud anyway?

The only good part of the story for me is that this was a free trial, so at least it didn't cost me anything. Well, it cost me time.
