Publisher's Summary

Western civilization has had its run.

The West's own governments are giving up, have already lost, or are leading the charge to something else. This doesn't sit well with those who believe in liberty. This is the story of a people who have lost the political fight, they've lost the culture wars, they haven't seen a level playing field in a generation, and they are about to be made serfs. None of that matters. They're leaving....

Fresh starts are never easy. This is the first book in a story about a new world, different enemies, and old luggage.

Author's note: We've all consumed sci-fi or speculative fiction where the dystopian backdrop is some form of fascism - usually portrayed as conservatism run amok. This is not that kind of book. The backdrop of this book is a socialist and corporate statist disaster on a global scale. It is basically fascism arising from the left. I had to give the protagonists a reason to do what they do.... As such there are numerous disturbing scenes within, portraying everything from socialized medicine, five-year economic plans and government-enforced serfdom. If you think any of that sounds like a panacea for the future, you will not like this book.

The debut novel from a former CIA operations officer who has decided that his lifelong writing habit/hobby/obsession is more fun than "real" work.

Interesting Take on Dystopian (socialist) Future

This was a unique story in that the politically conservative groups of the world surrender to the fact the leftists and their ideology have won over the world and are now consolidating their hold over all the worlds nations. In order to escape, a parallel world(s) has been discovered, devoid of human life and provides hope for a new future, if they can escape the government and their own embedded leftists who want to continue some of the horrible ideology they left behind. Overall - this was an interesting story that left out the deep scientific and technical knowledge behind the theories of parallel universes. It also lightly covers some of the deeper political and economic issues behind socialism and crony capitalism that we see happening in America today. I guess, I was hoping for more action and was disappointed when there weren't more action scenes and only realizing at the end of the book, that this was all a set-up for subsequent novels. I guess this was more drama and political thriller than sci-fi/military - which I was hoping for based on the cover art. I would ONLY recommend this book for conservative readers as the author's feelings towards leftist ideology is made very clear throughout.

Sign me up let's go

No spoilers so not much to say other than some reviews say the politics are to slanted to the right but I disagree it is more libertarian, as it says in the book all peoples are welcome along for the ride. It is fun escapism especially with all the negative in the world right now the story grips you it is really good.

The narrator Marc Vietor is fantastic he is in my top 5 favorite narrators.

Absolutely Amazing

This book is an instant favorite for me. The attention to detail and background knowledge the author weaves into a story that parallels some of the issues we face in the real world today made for an enrapturing listen.

A different perspective

I’m just sad it’s not for real. I’d be off this planet in a heartbeat.

Right Wing Political Garbage

I need to start with that I am obviously not far right wing and I am hell not a lover of the liberal left. I just want a good story with Americans (Rep and Dem and all the others) having to fight back to build a society. This story is not to my liking. For the folks that are far right wing, you will like this story! For SM Anderson, really disappointed - I really liked your "End of Summer - Season of Man"

Nice read

The world slips into the NWO but there’s a place for the ‘good’ to escape. Once you get into it, you can’t put it down.

The Koch Brothers save humanity

or the humanity that has the right way of thinking.
Did you dig up Ayn Rand to pen this or is it one of Hitlers offspring from Brazil, read it to chapter 8, got ill with the far right bullshit, the author kept preaching. on and on. This book preaches from page one to chapter 8 , Old White Rich Dudes, have the answers. It's too bad. could have been a good story.

Easily the Best I've read in a while!

Nice to find some truth in Fiction. Some of the best Science Fiction makes a commentary on current events by showing what effect those events could have on the future. I CAN'T WAIT for the 2nd and 3rd books to come out on Audible. I'm buying them the day they release!

Although very enjoyable, also Very disturbing

Discribes the current situation on this planet accurately, and how the socialist, fascists are making huge strides in controlling everyone's lives while they erode liberties.
Sounds very much like the great reset that the elite are pushing for right now.
Unfortunately we do not have a "Bright Shore" to escape to.
