truly insulting edition by audible.....

This is a slightly modernised edition. The voices are quite outstanding and production superb..The problem is by modernized I mean modernist. Simply put , they blatantly omitted the name Christ or any reference to christianity wherever Dickens wrote it and not being a word worshiper I also mean any intent of meaning of this . one example For " Christian charity", they say Christmas cheer...what else did I expect from a Amazon owned company....Writing out what is the clear intention of a author's book is identical to book burning..Before you write me off as trite let me clear a distinction. The wonderful movie versions of this story never pose as "written by the author " but are BASED on the book. This production is basically word for word of the book accept for the omissions of the authors clear references to Christ and Christian virtue. Dickens intended to write a modern Christian parable...So posing a audiobook AS the novel narrated by a full cast can not hide behind poetical license...This is revisionist, and that is a cowards book burning....

I have nothing but admiration for all the voice actors as well as the sound person...This is actually a truly impressive narration...perfectly done.....The writer as well as audible/amazon should be ashamed of themself...However, I guarantee they never feels shame, only cause others to......

Wonderful dramatization of the classic

The reading, with a few slight changes, remains quite faithful to the source. An impressive cast of acttors brings the well known story to life. I highly recommend this audiobook.

A Delight

Wonderfully performed , a timeless and beautiful classic. I will definitely listen to this story again. It was a treat to hear after the holidays, but listening to it during the holiday season will be an added reward.

Phenomenal Dramatization

This, as the title says, is an abridged dramatization of the evergreen classic. The voice acting is simply phenomenal. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Delightful Adaptation.

A favorite story of mine, I know The Christmas Carol well. This dramatic adaptation was delightful. I particularly enjoyed the understated yet strong narration of Sir Derek Jacoby. The back ground atmosphere added depth of emotion and clarity to the scenes, both delightful and foreboding, without overpowering the moment or muddying the story line.
On the technical side, the voices were clear and dialogue was easily followed.

I adore this adaptation

I can't say enough wonderful things about it. The only thing that bothers me at all is that it names 5 of Bob's 6 children, leaving me to wonder what the other child's name is every time I listen. Ah well. That aside, it's perfect, in my humble opinion. Kudos to casting!
