I’m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I’m Fae. But of course, there’s a catch - all I have to do to claim my birthright is prove that I’m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that’s true, as I’m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn’t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.
At least, he's not a beast all the time.
As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Amazing book, but bad audio book!
I’ve read this series many times, and was very excited for a dramatized adaptation, but this disappointed me greatly. The wrong voice actors read dialog multiple times, and this audio book just cuts out random portions of description and text. You miss the subtle things with all they cut out. I figured they’d cut out the “insert-character said” because they are using voice actors, and the words to describe the sounds (though i wish they didn’t) because they are using sound effects, but not actual pieces of the scenes! And honestly cutting out the “insert-character said calmly” parts made you miss the characters relationship development too because they didn’t alway inflect properly to capture the tone described. Additionally they paid no heed to the specific words SJM had italicized to emphasize and just emphasized whatever they pleased or nothing at all. Just overall a hit and a miss.

Good casting, funny kissing scenes
The intimate scenes were pretty funny with the moans and slurps, but it was fun to listen to the story with character voices. Makes me even more excited for the TV adaptation. I imagined Amarantha having a more seductive and catty voice, but it was still a good casting choice.

I didn’t think that this book could get any better!
The performance was great. The characters came alive. The story that Sarah wrote was amazing in itself, but having it dramatized just brought the amazing this even to the forefront. This is a story that is worth retelling over and over. I cannot wait for the next book!

A Court of Life and Color
Incredible dramatised adaptation of an already loved book.
The voices are brilliantly matched to convey fae voices, Lucien’s and Amaranth’s voice was my favourite and Alis brought to life was a real delight.
The music gives the story life and depth and the crescendo at the end gave me goosebumps.
I am incredibly excited to listen to the rest of the series.

Audio book was better
Usually I love a good dramatisation. I felt this one left so much to be desired; the audio book was more enjoyable for me. Feyre's voice actor did not match my imaginings of her; little intonation and made her sound much more whiny 😅. The sound effects for magic and the smoochy scenes were very B-movie.
