Publisher's Summary

She knew her hand in marriage would be sold. She had no idea a fae prince was the buyer.

Katria swore she'd never fall in love. She's seen what "love" means through the cruelty of her family. So when she's married off to the mysterious Lord Fenwood for a handsome price, all Katria wants is a better life than the one she's leaving. Feelings are off the table.

But her new husband makes not falling in love difficult.

As their attraction begins to grow, so too do the oddities within her new life: strange rules, screams in the night, and attacks by fae that Katria never thought were real. When she witnesses a ritual not meant for human eyes, Katria finds herself spirited away to the land of Midscape.

Surviving the fae wilds as a human is hard enough. Katria must survive as a human who accidently pilfered the magic of ancient kings—magic a bloodthirsty king is ready to kill her for in order to keep his stolen throne—and her new husband is the rightful heir in hiding.

The power to save the fae is in her hands. But who will save her from a love she vowed never to feel?

A Dance with the Fae Prince is a complete, stand-alone novel inspired by the tales of Psyche and Eros, as well as Cinderella, with a "happily ever after" ending. It's perfect for romantic fantasy fans. A Dance with the Fae Prince features a slow-burn romance, swoon-worthy couple, and steaminess that ranges from simmering to sizzling.

Boring

I struggled to finish this one. Found it boring and very predictable. Didn’t feel any chemistry between the main characters. The male wasn’t a hero. The female also annoyed me. But I couldn’t return the credit so I struggled through. The first book I thought was much more imaginative and exciting.

Beautifully written tale

This one was even better! It had me guessing for quite some time before I put it all together. Well written and very well read.

Lackluster performance ruins any romantic tension

The reader was not cast well at all. She drained the characters of sparkle and romantic tension.

This book had a well-paced plot, vivid details, a decent heroine, and a cardboard male lead. There’s a heavy backstory of (mostly well-handled) emotional and physical abuse, so be ready for that. But repetitive vocabulary, trite phrases (especially around love and the “sex scenes”), lack of chemistry, and super boring missionary sex (with him always “moving upon her” or “moving above her”) made this a waste of time for me. Hard pass.

I also didn’t appreciate the machinations so there was a marriage before sex theme. Seriously? Are we still doing that?

I was enthralled from the beginning!

Elizabeth Evans is one of my favorite narrators, and paired with Elise Kova, it was magic! They pulled me in and didn't let go.

The Cinderella elements, blended with fae, hidden royal identities, an enemies to lovers feel, adventure, and slow burn romance made this a fabulous listen. I stayed engrossed to the very end, even as I started figuring out the mystery, and I finished it in 2 days! The realms were intriguing, along with the magic system.
I can't wait to dive back into the Married to Magic world again!

My least favorite of the Married to Magic books.

I know the description warns that it is like Cinderella, but the first chapter is almost word for word the same story in addition to the ending. Disney should likely sue. Additionally, the plot is faulty and leaves you knowing what the ending will be the entire time, which is probably why many say the book is boring. You want to scream why someone wouldn’t ask why another person would jump into fire for a book. The plot is that flawed and obvious. Lastly, while I like the characters… the main male character does so much mansplaining that it is almost painful at times. This was the author’s opportunity to give the female the lead and the power and she dramatically fails in doing so. However, it is still an interesting read and I have read worse. If you like the Married to Magic books, you might as well read this too. The only thing that saves it is the narrator, Elizabeth Evans. She is so good I’ll read anything of hers and she can make anything tolerable.

So Katria was slightly annoying 🙄

Granted, I understand the concept of burying trauma. But when the truth presents itself, denying it and pretending it doesn't exist is the most annoying trait book characters can have. Besides that, this was excellent. And I enjoyed it immensely.

enjoyed it

An interesting take on the cupid/psyche mythology in the authors universe. I chose to read this series from seeing what other work the narrator does and wasn't dissapointed

Lovely Story

It’s a wonderful book despite being a stand alone book. It’s hard to part with this story because I’m wanting more. But it’s nice that it is a happy ending, and has a pretty straightforward cliffhanger. Your left to assume that the story will continue with the happily ever after it deserves.

I do hope that we can get series 2 of married to magic because the world is just heart warming I still want to be immersed into the story.

** the MC can get a little frustrating at times. It’s like entering into a young adult mind again. As frustrating as it is all the emotions and thoughts MC go through are normal and I do appreciate the realism it brings that not everyone at the age around 18-25 isn’t as mature as everyone thinks they should be. It shows growth from the MC learning to become mature closer to the end. Though Ik MC still has plenty of growing to do.

OMFG

I am a sucker for “arranged marriage” books and this didn’t disappoint me. The first book in the series will always be my favourite but the couple in this was amazing too😊

Feel-good story. Wholesome.

Saw the twist coming a mile away but still so satisfying when it happened. Fun execution, too. Sweet couple.
