Publisher's Summary

Her opponents have her cornered, unless Sera makes an unexpected move….

Seraphina continues to pick at the secrets entangling her, when during a ball she spots a piece of enchanted jewelry eerily similar to the one she once wore. But before she can find out about the origins of the magical bracelet, its owner is murdered.

At least this time no one is blaming Sera.

To find the missing bracelet before it falls into the wrong hands, she must uncover the murderer. Her friends gather to investigate—could it be someone in the visiting Austrian delegation, or are older grudges at play? They need to stop the person responsible before another life is lost, or worse, many lives are irrevocably ruined.

Meanwhile, the Mage Council plots to corner Seraphina using the oldest tool they have—forcing her into submission. If they lay their hands on the bracelet first, she will be powerless to resist. What she needs is a plan, some schnitzel, and a dangerous ruse….

just at geat at as or prequel series!!!

first off ,the narrator is FREAKIN' PERF for these 2 series!!!! tilly wallace has her own special way of immersing her readers straight into the story and this narrator really meshes well with it all... i find myself lost in the book while i'm listening. her take on supernaturals is quite interesting, she definitely does them all justice (you'll learn ALOT more about the other supernaturals or {unnaturals} in the Manners & Monsters Collection) i love the historical fiction mixed with supernatural fanstasy and don't forget the sleuthing, with a side of STRONG A$$ HEROINE M.C.!!!! the prequel series, Manners & Monsters (6 book collection) is just as great {maybe even better} i would suggest listening to that whole collection as well!

I enjoyed listening to it.

The continuation of the series is pretty good, it follows the formula and entertains me, the only issue with the narration was that most of the men all sounded the same, otherwise it was good.
