I enjoyed this book

I enjoyed this book.
There is Romance but just misses on sex scenes. Comes close.
It contains course language but not a lot and some violence.
The narrator does a great job, giving each character their own unique voice.
I enjoyed the story line.

Story was Drawn out at the Start & Rush at End

You Start out with the MC (Riley) who runs a Coffee Shop called Witch's Brew. She is a Orphan who during the entire 18 yrs was in Foster Care. She finally tracked down her birth Father in a town called Wildwood. When her father died he left everything (his home and a good size bank account) to Riley. She then bought the storefront and opened a Coffee Shop. As the story continues we meet various other people in this town. Then a fire at the local Bakery and later a Robbery at Witch's Brew. Finally a Murder. Narrator does a good job with the characters voices and the entire storyline.

COZY mystery meets Miss Marple's

I was really disappointed - I was expecting a young woman coming into her own...finding herself with a bit of murder mystery. I feel it's more like a group of "Miss Marple's" discovering odd occurrences in a cozy, fluffy mystery (yes including the stereotypical baked goods) that ends in more unanswered questions than a bad cliff hanger.
While I enjoy the odd cozy mystery from time to time, it's not why I purchased this book. I thought it would have a more confident heroine, not necessarily "Laura Croft" style but was not expecting the nosey meek female lead.

Great book but some bad language

This has been an entertaining book. I originally thought it was for teens.. And I guess teens are use to cursing. But the bad word startled me for a moment. I wasn't expecting it, however, it was a rare occurrence. Other than that, it has been a great book and I didn't care that much about it but realize some may so thought I'd warn you. outside of that, it is an awesome book that is narrated very well.

Flat and unispired

A Deadly Affair is a slow moving story with flat characters. I can't get into it.

Great small town mystery! ❤️

R. M. Connor is a new author to me, and I am so glad I decided to listen to this book. This is a great mystery in a small community where there are paranormal activities going on with a little romance thrown in. Within this who-done-it mystery, there is also a lot of laughs. I love Riley and her group of friends and look forward to seeing them in the next book. Michelle did an awesome job narrating and had a different voice for each character so you knew which character was speaking when you listened. Each voice fit the character perfectly. Her narration made the book very enjoyable!

Good narration.

Good narration. Unfortunately the story fell flat for me. Too slow burning and not as gripping as I would like. Took me a good week to listen.

Great start to the series

A Deadly Affair, the first book in The Deadly series is an entertaining urban fantasy/paranormal mystery. The character development is excellent; I found the cast intriguing and totally appealing. The premise and world-building are creative and fascinating. The storyline is fast-paced, engaging, adventurous, and a great start to the series. I'm interested to know what happens next and how Riley will uncover the next mystery or murder. Michelle Shure did a fantastic job with the narration. She has a clear and pleasant voice and was able to portray the characters' personalities and emotions.

A Deadly Affair

What a start off to the series! It’s a fantastic introduction to the book, a little love interest, lots of mystery a murder and some paranormals. I can’t think of a better time! The narration is nice and easy to listen to. I however did speed the book up. Looking forward to book 2.
