Publisher's Summary

This book kicks off a charming cozy mystery series set in an ice cream shop - with a fabulous cast of quirky characters.

Recent MBA grad Bronwyn Crewse has just taken over her family's ice cream shop in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and she's going back to basics. Win is renovating Crewse Creamery to restore its former glory, and filling the menu with delicious, homemade ice cream flavors - many from her grandmother's original recipes. But unexpected construction delays mean she misses the summer season, and the shop has a literal cold opening: The day she opens her doors an early first snow descends on the village and keeps the customers away.

To make matters worse, that evening, Win finds a body in the snow, and it turns out the dead man was a grifter with an old feud with the Crewse family. Soon, Win's father is implicated in his death. It's not easy to juggle a new-to-her business while solving a crime, but Win is determined to do it. With the help of her quirky best friends and her tight-knit family, she'll catch the ice cold killer before she has a meltdown....

Why Audible Been Hiding The AA Cozy Mysteries?

Excellent writing by Ms.Collette & narration by Ms. Skyye. I am so glad I found this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy book. I can't say how much it warms me to finally find a cozy mystery w/characters that I relate to far as backgrounds, family ties, and friendships. The characters are not walking cliches. They are not stereotypical cozy characters to the letter.

What I mean by that statement is; you know how you read most Cozies and it feels as if the writer filled out one of those writing guides we were given back in Jr/High School to help us develop our stories. Place their adorable pet here: Next: Hot mess BFF here Next: Mean Girl from past here:

That format gets predictable and tiring. I like the mix up in this story.

I really dig this Audible & I highly recommend it if you flavor a little something different and enjoy laughing out loud.

BTW...AUDIBLE I still got an ear to pick w/you!

I wanted to like this book but

This book was like a Scooby Doo episode. The dialogue was dated and the main characters acted like teenagers instead of adults.
The audible performance did not help this drake story. The narrator sounded like a computer.

Highly Entertaining

I have given other books with an ice cream theme a try and was disappointed. However, I'm very happy that I gave this book a try. It is funny without trying and has a great cast of characters. Bronwyn, Maise and Riya are a great team and I love their "Ride or Die" friendship. The mystery is well written and fast paced with several plot twists. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book in this series.

Fun, Entertaining Mystery

This book was a delight to listen to. The combination of family dynamics, a small business owner trying to relaunch her family's legacy ice cream store, and the meta murder mystery elements is a winning combination.

Also it really made me want ice cream.

cute story

The story was extremely detailed, which made the story drag a bit. The narrator's voice had a mechanical quality to it making it seem like it was digital.

A fun mystery

This book was light, bit interesting. There was no graphic description. The story was clean and engaging. The main characters were well developed. I enjoyed it immensely.

Fun murder mystery!!

I honestly did not expect to like this book as much as I did, but I did!! The story is lighthearted enough with really fun characters much in the vane as Father Brown or Miss Fischer or Frankie Drake that you forget that it’s about a murder!
