Publisher's Summary

Become enchanted by the fantasy world of gods and mortals in bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair's reimagined New Greece. Listeners are "hopelessly addicted" to the story of Hades and Persephone told from Hades's point of view.

Hades, God of the Dead, does not take sides or bend the rules. He makes no exceptions to these values—not for god or mortal, even his lover, Persephone, Goddess of Spring.

Usually, fear prevents retaliation.

But not this time.

When Hera, Goddess of Women, approaches Hades with a plan to overthrow Zeus, he declines to offer help. As punishment, Hera sentences Hades to perform a series of labors. Each feat seems more impossible than the last and draws his attention away from Persephone—whose own tragedy has left her questioning whether she can be Queen of the Underworld.

Can Hades maintain the balance he craves?

Contains mature themes.

Narrator ruins St. Claire’s writing

I love this entire series! But the narrator for the hades portion of the series seriously lacks luster. He mispronounces a lot of the names and will change the pronunciation as the reading goes on. And the way he portrays females is just so so so bad.

Plot and spice!!

I will forever be in awe of Scarlett St. Clair’s writing! The love between Persephone and Hades is everything. There were times my heart broke for them, and times I wanted shout with joy. This story had me captivated the entire time. Worth every second!

The absolute worst narrator 🫠

After suffering through A Game of Fate narrated by the same voice actor I’m not even half way through chapter 3 and this is getting painful. After all the complaints with the first book from Hades POV I cannot believe this guy got a second chance. The cherry on top is the fact his pronunciation is vastly different from the voice actor that narrated Persephone.. They could literally not have picked a worse Hades.

switched to read only

The narration does not fit Hades at all. This interpretation of Hades is ot darklord of the underworld. The narration makes it an unpleasant experience.

Love

I enjoyed this one more than Persephone perspective. She made me angry a lot. But also shows that way more is going on than she actually knows.

So Good!

I love the Hades series! Seeing everything he does behind the scenes! His love and devotion to her is something that makes him wonderful! I love the voice of Tyler Donne for Hades! He also plays Hermes so well! Something I personally feel he has I’m common with the person who reads A Touch of Darkness! Love it can’t wait for the rest of the series!!!!

Great Sequel

This version was better than Persephones sequel A Touch of Ruins. It was very interesting and engaging. Hades had so much on his plate that it really made you realize he has his own life and as a God it's not easy especially God of the Underworld.

Absolutely amazing

I don’t know how she does it. But I read both books at the same time, her and his, both having different stories and meeting together in one. Absolutely amazing. I love her. Can’t wait to read the next 2.

Loved it but one thing

The story and characters are great but the narrator pronounces names differently than the one narrating Persephone's POV and that irritates me.

Steamy!

As per the other books, I prefer the originals (from Persephone's point of view) but still a good read/listen!!
