Publisher's Summary

Stephen "Steve-O" Glover—social media icon, comedy-touring stalwart, and star of Jackass—delivers a hilarious and practical guide to recovery, relationships, career, and how to keep thriving long after you should be dead.

Steve-O is best known for his wildly dangerous, foolish, painful, embarrassing, and sometimes death-defying stunts. At age 48, however, he faces his greatest challenge yet: getting older. A Hard Kick in the Nuts: What I’ve Learned from a Lifetime of Terrible Decisions is a captivating exploration of life and how to live it by an individual who has already lived way more than a lifetime’s worth of extreme experiences. Steve-O grapples with the right balance between maturity and staying true to yourself, not repeating your “greatest hits,” maintaining sobriety and a healthy regimen, avoiding selfishness, and finding the right partner for life.

Having built a gargantuan and loyal social media following while establishing a successful stand-up career—all after a couple of decades of dubious behavior—Steve-O is proof that anyone can find meaning and fulfillment in life, no matter what path they choose. Packed with self-deprecating wit and gruelingly earned wisdom, A Hard Kick in the Nuts will reverberate with listeners everywhere who have lived a lot (sometimes too much) and are now wondering how to approach the years to come. Or maybe just need some good motivation to get out of bed tomorrow. One of many tips: Be your own harshest critic, then cut yourself a break, and enjoy this book.

Professional Idiot: Leftovers

I love Steveo, been following him for 20 years. I loved his first book Professional Idiot, everyone can enjoy it. This book, A Hard Kick In The Nuts, holds some great wisdom and is sometimes entertaining, but I can not recommend it to people who are not already fans of Steveo. Don't forget to check out his podcast Wild Ride, there's some dope guests.

A journey of close self reflection.

Steve o is a great story teller.
And since we are all the same at core, there was a big part of me in his story, so it gave realizations and insights.
It is indeed a self helpish book but from a different perspective.
Loved it.

This book is a wild ride!

I loved everything about this book, and it has helped me to realise that I probably have an unhealthy relationship with sugary foods. Thanks Steve-O!

Self-Help book by Steve-O? Well.....

When this was announced I laughed, thinking it was a stunt in itself. But after watching almost his entire back catalogue and youtube videos, I knew it wouldnt be a rubbishy "harness the power within" and it would give sage advice from a life lived on the edge of death for many years and then juxtaposed with his healthy living since 2008.
i am also a hopeless addict, with all manner of vices so this would a great help.
if youre getting older like me, it can be disheartening knowing those you looked up to as a teenager slowly becoming worse more pathetic versions of themselves, not Steve-O! He is probably the only exception from this rule and I am so so happy for him that he has this second life and it is secure for the rest of his days.

Good on you mate, you really are an inspiration

A man we thought would be dead

Great look from a perspective few have, solid advice for younger nut jobs.
Steve-o is genuinely humbling to listen to, Im old enough to have seen his earliest stuff, and what he's done in life now and his honest yet brash recount of the how's and why's is riddled with gems for people who might find other 'self-help' books to clinical or judgemental.
if you've followed him or don't know him since Jackass and his early stunts, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
