In this revealing compendium, acclaimed writer Diana Gabaldon shares her invaluable lessons for creating an immersive reading experience, from evoking a mood to using the power of emotions to communicate physical intimacy. You'll learn the difference between gratuitous sex and genuine encounters that move the story forward and how to handle less-than-savory acts that nevertheless serve a narrative purpose. Gabaldon also notes that sex can be conveyed instead of described.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Very Entertaining
I love time travel stories and I loved this story, too. Who can't love a wonderful knight and a fun romance! I thought this story well-written with a great variety of characters. It also was a bit humorous which I enjoyed. The setting was well-done as I could imagine what was going on and how tough times were then. I found the whole story entertaining. I am looking forward to reading more of Cynthia Luhrs' books.

Trite, full of plot holes, scene transitions were abrupt, and the narrator sounded bored out of her mind. I love medievil romances so I wanted to like this series. I'm very disappointed that I don't.

A sweet time travel romance!
In any time travel book, you have to start in one time, in this case the present, in order to travel to another time, frequently the past. I liked how the author laid the groundwork to set up the reason for falling through time which I found to be very entertaining. The fact that there were no explicit sex scenes kept the story moving quickly and realistically. I didn't miss the lack of sex scenes in the story, as the implied romantic interest/chemistry, between the main characters was written so well. I also bought the audio version of this book, narrated by Kristina Blackstone. I loved her "southern, North Carolina accent for Lucy, but would have preferred a bit more distinction between the male voices. She is a talented narrator, so that is just personal preference. I have enjoyed books 1&2 so am looking forward to reading book 3 as soon as possible. I would easily recommend this story to friends that enjoy sweet, time travel romances. Four stars for story, performance, and interest.

I wanted to like this....
I love a good time travel romance. I saw this and thought it would be right up my alley. When the narrator started reading, I thought: "She's not the best I've heard, but I think I could like her." Even though her southern accent was not great, it was decent. Then she tried a British accent. I almost returned the book right then. I didn't, I stuck with it figuring I would get used to it. I didn't. ------Spoilers------ Once our heroine falls back in time, she is confronted with men speaking a different language. She comes to the conclusion that they are speaking French or a language similar to French. One man speak to her in English with a French accent. Our narrators French accent is not good. Never fear though, it quickly morphed to an abysmal British accent. To be fair, I think I could like this narrator without the accents. Now for the story. I have to be completely honest and tell you this can't be a full review as I am only 1 hour 45 minutes in and returning the book. (Thank goodness I have the romance package and didn't waste a credit on it.) Our heroine has already thrown up 4, or is it 5, times. She gets nervous: puke, excited: puke, scared: puke. You get the idea. The writing is just not very good. At one point, she painfully stands up with pain in her knee, or something to that effect (the word pain is thrown in a third time for good measure.) I just can't go any further with this book. I wanted to quit 5 times and stuck with it hoping it would get better. It hasn't so I'm done.

No editors available, you think?
Kind of disappointing. Why?...Well..
1)- One of the stupidest heroines ever..
2)- For example, the hero saying " the year of our Lord , thirteen O seven" WHAT?!?
However, I’m curious if the other books in the series are as full of mistakes as this one , or maybe the author got some help?

Needed another narrator.
Would you try another book from Cynthia Luhrs and/or Kristina Blackstone?
Sure but I really disliked the narrator's male voice and her southern accent was WAY off! I had to quit listening several times because I couldn't stand it!
Would you be willing to try another book from Cynthia Luhrs? Why or why not?
Sure.
What character would you cut from A Knight to Remember?
I think they were all pretty necessary for the story.
Any additional comments?
This was a nice little story. No sex, which I didn't mind at all. Unfortunately, the narrator ruined the entire book. She (the narrator) doesn't have a bad voice but her character voices were absolutely horrible.

The worst story I have ever listened to .
This book is really poorly written and the performance is awful. I have never heard a southern accent that was so bad. The main character in this book sounded like an idiot. I'm sorry this whole thing was just bad.

Easy predictable listenjng
I chose this book for easy listening and a simple story that would send me to sleep. It does that, and well. If I had one complaint (other than the excerable attempt at an English accent) is that the series title tells me exactly what to expect from the other books.
