Publisher's Summary

The secrets and lies that exist within a seemingly perfect marriage are explored in this “second-chance tale of romantic suspense” (Booklist) from the nationally best-selling and award-winning author of The Stolen Daughter.

Meet Shannon and Jay Lovejoy - the rich and successful power couple who, to the millions of fans of their call-in radio show, seem like they’ve got it all. But after three years, their once passionate and loving romance has fizzled and the couple’s divorce becomes embroiled in not only a mess of infidelity and deceit, but the untimely and shocking death of Jay’s mistress, as well.

This “taut, expressive page-turner” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) boldly goes where ReShonda Tate Billingsley has never gone before with her fiction, delivering the perfect combination of romance and suspense in one thrilling novel.

Monotonous

Don’t know how I made it through this book. I am surprised that a a well known established author would release a book that repeats the same thing over and over and over and over and … An effective writer uses the actions of her characters to establish their attitude and perspective and then moves on to the plot. It was so aggravating to have to hear example after example after example after… of the fact that Shannon was upset that her husband had cheated and she wanted a divorce and didn’t want to work with him anymore. HELLOOOOO, we got the point now please move on! If you are able to get through the MONOTONOUS first half of the book, the storyline was no masterpiece but it was decent, cute.

A lil Twist on a Love Gone Wrong

Overall, I thought that's the overall storyline of this book was well written. sometimes it takes a life changing experience to realize what you have.
For me, what really engages me into a book is always the narrator period if the narrator is not engaging and dramatic, then I often have a hard time following through and being interested period but I will say that Janina Edwards did a fantastic job as she normally does.

Boring and story didn’t make sense

I normally love this author, but this novel just dragged on for first half of the book chapters and did not make sense. It was a disappointment.
