Story
One day, I’m married, living in Seattle, and magic isn’t real. The next, I’m divorced and living in the guest room of my ex’s hotter-than-sin cousin’s place in Savannah and talking to an animated skeleton named Robert. I have to admit, Robert isn’t my worst date. At 41, I didn’t think I’d be starting over. But I’ll be damned if my ex thinks I’m down and out because he pulled a fast one on me. When a job comes my way that offers me a chance to use my childhood training in the shadow world, I take it.

Robin Brannon was a normal wife, mom, and antique shop owner until a brush with death turned her day-to-day life upside down. Now, she and her two best friends are seeing things that belong in a fantasy novel. Ghosts. Visions. Omens of doom. Nothing that belongs in the peaceful mountain town they call home. Added to that, Robin's marriage is on the rocks, her grandmother's health is failing, her mother is driving away the customers at her shop, her teenage daughter refuses to get her driver's license, and her left knee aches every darn morning.

Publisher's Summary
Olivia Kiskey needs a change. She’s been working at the same Nodaway Falls, New York, waffle house since she was a teenager; not a lot of upward mobility there. She’s been in love with Tobias, the cook, for the last four years; he's never made a move. Every Saturday night, she gathers with her three best friends—Peach, Millie, and Stacy—and drinks the same margaritas while listening to the same old stories. Intent on shaking things up, she puts her house on the market, buys a one-way ticket to Europe, and announces her plans to her friends... but then she meets Davina Granville, a strange and mystical Southern woman who shows Olivia that there is more to her life than she ever dreamed.
As Liv’s latent magical powers come to the surface, she discovers that having an interesting life is maybe not all it’s cracked up to be. The dark side of someone else’s magic is taking over good people in town, and changing them into vessels of malevolence. Unwilling to cede her home to darkness, she battles the demons of her familial past and her magical present, with those she loves at her side - and in the cross fire. Can the most important things in life—friendship, love, magic, and waffles—get her through the worst that the universe can throw at her?

I really hope this turns into a series...
Would you consider the audio edition of A Little Night Magic to be better than the print version?
I prefer both... first time reading on my own but then having Amanda Ronconi breathe a new life into the story is great.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Little Night Magic?
I love the Saturday night confessionals... reminds me of times with a group of my girlfriends who I do not see nearly enough anymore... will have to see up a Margarita night myself...
What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved her narration of Molly Harper's books so much I got this one just because she was the narrator. I found this story just as entertaining mainly because of Amanda Ronconi and the life she gives to the characters. Sometimes when a narrator does multiple voices for multiple characters it just doensn't quite work. Not so with Amanda Ronconi.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes... went straight thru it
Any additional comments?
If you like the Molly Harper books I believe you would be pleased with this author as well. Will have to try more books by this author. There was enough of funny to make me laugh, enough plot to keep me interested, and characters I enjoyed. It's a light romance (anyone up for a steamier book might want to look elsewhere) but the relationship works... where in other books I too often feel the relationship is rushed or forced. Not so with the book.
I've been reading so many in this genre that are typically Vampire or Were based... nice to see Magic take centerfold. Audible doesn't have any of these yet but if you liked this book or Molly Harpers might I suggest the Hex series by Linda Wisdom, Broken Heart Oklahoma series by Michele Bardsley, or Real Vampires Have Curves series (forgot the name) by Gerri Bartlett.

A fun listen...
I really think that Amanda Ronconi could make the phone book entertaining. I don't think the book would have been as fun to read on my own as it was to listen to her read to me. She really is fantastic and so very appropriate for this genre.
The story had a lot of potential and kept me entertained. Certain characters could have been developed more and the rules for magic in her world established better. The book seemed a bit rushed at times and I would have been happy to listen to a longer version with more details.
I didn't laugh aloud as often as I do with Molly Harper's books (yes, they are similar as other reviewers have stated), but I did laugh and chuckle and grin a lot. I would definitely read other material by Lucy March, especially if narrated by Ronconi.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
If you are a fan of Molly Harpers books, then you will probably enjoy this one, the story is pretty good and has some of that familiar humor like Harpers books, but just not quite as good..the narrator is as always awsome..

Beginning was hilarious....
Having listened to a couple of very depressing novels. I needed this book to clean my pallet. This book was so funny and so well narrated...I laughed so hard my family got mad. I love the dialog in this book and it is delivered, timed so perfectly. It became more serious but it kept the good story, good narration...thank you this is great entertainment.

Well, the narration is excellent, but...
I wanted to like this book, I really did. The premise sounded interesting, and it should have been amusing since it was compared to Molly Harper's style. And I so enjoy listening to Amanda Ronconi bring characters to life. These characters, however, could have stayed in imagination until they had matured sufficiently to deal with the situation at hand. First off, there were too many "main" characters. Olivia, Peach, Millie, Stacy, Tobias, Davina, that mystery guy, the owner of the diner, plus the townsfolk with names. Okay, maybe we'd all be as whiney as the heroine in this story if the events depicted had happened in real life. But it wasn't real life, was it? It's fantasy, so is it unusual for me to want to like the characters? Is it too much to ask the heroine to suck it up and turn the plot from premise into an enjoyable story? I couldn't do it. I skipped at least 1/3 of the book because I wanted to slap Olivia and tell her to get a grip. I wanted to sit Tobias down and explain the importance of open communication. I wanted to be able to differentiate between the best friends. So... If you like Molly Harper or Darynda Jones, do not use a credit for this book. I don't know under what circumstance I could, in all good conscience, recommend it. I thought about saying you could, perhaps, get it if it's free - I got it in a 3 for 2 sale. But no, nothing is truly free, because time is a commodity too, and you won't want to waste yours.

Fun & Light-Hearted. Amanda Ronconi Rocks!
All I can say is if you're a fan of Molly Harper, you'll probably like this book. Honestly if I didn't know who the author was, I probably would of guessed Molly Harper, especially with Amanda Ronconi telling the tale. It's a "light romance, sci/fi fantasy, bonding girl friends, battle the bad guy, finding ones inter-strength" kind of story that hs the right touch of humor that I found myself llaughing out loud a few times. It's really worth the listen, especially if you are a Molly Harper fan.

Fireworks: Sparkled then Fizzled
What did you love best about A Little Night Magic?
Best of all was Amanda Ronconi. Her voice is amazing!
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
It had such potential, the story line was taking a new path in the witch genre. But the story became disjointed and fizzled in the end.
Which character ??? as performed by Amanda Ronconi ??? was your favorite?
Every character. This woman opens her mouth and I listen.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did laugh on several occasions. It helps to have a narrator that knows how to deliver a line.
Any additional comments?
I will read this author again. In fact, I like the premise of this book and would give a sequel a try. I like the life long friendship of the girls, the old home owned by Olivia, Elizabeth and her CCE's Waffled House, etc. Of course, it needs to be narrated by Ms. Ronconi

enjoyable new book
This was quite a pleasant surprise to find. I don't usually read books on magic and witchcraft, preferring werewolves and vampires. This book has become the exception, though, and I can't wait until the author follows up with another book. It isn't dark and evil like some in the genre, and has good bits of humor to lighten it up as well.

Was it Ronconi! Or...
This read very much like Molly Harper's books. I don't know if it is because Amanda Ronconi was the reader or what. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Lucy March is a pen name for Harper. March has no other books out so it makes one think? Anyway, I liked the book very much, a good light & fun read. And of course Amanda Ronconi did a fabulous job as usual. She is in my top 3 for narrators - her, Tavia Gilbert & Emma Galvin.
If she came out with ant other books, I would definitely buy.

This book was amazingly like a Molly Harper book in terms of the writing. I would put it as one her best...except it's (supposedly) not written by her. This is a wonderful story, original, and very entertaining. I was trudging my way through two other books and was excited to put them down (so to speak) to listen to this audiobook.

Oh dear....
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?
Well since I bought it due to great reviews, I guess all the other fans of M. Harper except for me and few others lured to it. Gave it two stars because I actually finished it- well done me!
What could Lucy March have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The story had an opportunity to be great. The stage is set very well, the side characters good, the basic story line perfect.
But then the author has plopped Olivia- our female lead into it. She is so dumb it should be against law. She gets signs all over the place and she still makes the stupidest mistakes ever. Not just one as we humans do and learn from it, but one after another, after another and another…. I just wanted to shake her most of the book. The “love” she claims for our male lead Tobias is something very odd from her side. Very similar to all her relationships. Rather selfish in some ways.
Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favourite?
Amanda is one of the best narrators of audio books. She does Molly Harper's books and I love her voice. She is great on all male and female voices. So, every character (however stupid) is helped along by greatest possible support of a master of narration.
Any additional comments?
If you dislike heroines who are stupid (not just naive) and often are tempted while reading/listening to a book to slap them- this is not for you. If you do not mind woman in her late 20s behaving like a 14 year old... yep, right up your favourites
I just wish I payed more attention to negative reviews as I stupidly bought another audio by the author at the same time without thinking. I need to start paying more attention with reviews and waste my credits

What did you like most about A Little Night Magic?
I have read a lot of negative feed back about this story... is it fair...in my opinion NO. A bit 'darker' than the average fantasy romance but an interesting story line. I think it is unfair to call the main character dim witted. It is easy to stand on the sideline & heckle. We have a saying 'you cannot see the wood for the trees'. Some times we are too close & things take a while to click. Not a light hearted book but a good story with plenty of action.

Great new find.
Where does A Little Night Magic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
one of the best this year. I love Molly Harpers book and they are read by Amanda Ronconi also..fabulous bit of escapism!
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Little Night Magic?
A really easy listen, I will go back and listen again. It was a shame when the book ended.
Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favourite?
All of them, she is of of my favourite narrators!
Any additional comments?
Loved it. If you have listened to all the Molly Harper books try this next.

One of little treasures you find by accident
Would you consider the audio edition of A Little Night Magic to be better than the print version?

EVRETHING!!!!!! she is one of the very few narrators I log on looking for
