Sinclair Family Mustery

Roland and Wilfred’s relationship comes to a head—and they finally learn about their father’s shooting 13 years previous.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the narrator, my first time audio Sinclair book.

WOULD MAKE FOR GREAT TV

I can’t get enough of the Roland Sinclair mysteries. I want them to be made into a television series. They are excellent. Gentill’s deft blending of historical times, events, factual information and real historical figures with the very three dimensional characters is such a pleasure to read. The characters and their relationships are complex, engaging and at times intriguing. When reading these books I feel like I’m a member of the household and living in those times. The narration by Rupert Degas is of the highest level and his mastery over voices and accents is astounding and enjoyable.

Years tick over but human nature repeats itself.

The era is brilliantly captured, but the sense of family and friends transcends the artists pallet.

Another magnificent performance by Degas

Love the series. Found this a little uneven. The second half was far better that the first half as Gentill, as she always does across the series, deepenis het characterisation & motivations by exploring complex feelings and interpersonal relations, in this case the silences with family about family abuse and their life long toll. Fascinating depiction of Long Bay Gaol, Edna Waling and the Mouat family in Melbourne.
