He was perfect. Denim blue eyes, a dazzling smile. And he hadn’t sent me a picture of his junk. Which is about as rare, these days, as a dodo. When Sloane met Myles, everything fell into place. He loved a martini almost as much as she did, shared her passion for four-cheese pizzas, and made her laugh harder than any episode of Friends. She’d found 'The One' at last, and she could finally delete Tinder, forgetting all those waste-of-space men she’d never have to date again. But then she finds out that Myles has a secret. A very big one.

Cute idea but a bit of an eye-roll
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The main thing I would like to have seen was a lot more "showing" and less "telling". The reader was told about all sorts of character development through 3rd-person narration without actually getting to see a lot of character development happening. I would also have changed the love-interest altogether - it simply wasn't believable at all. There was nothing about Anna Browne's love-interest that seemed terribly appealing other than that he was allegedly handsome. His character wasn't developed at all; I actually found myself saying "why??" out loud whenever Anna talked longingly about this fellow - not because I thought he was awful but because as the reader I'd not been shown anything about him or their relationship that demonstrated the growing attraction that I was supposed to now believe in.
What was most disappointing about Miranda Dickinson’s story?
Like other reviewers, I warmed to Anna after a while, but I just didn't understand the interest in Ben, the man she supposedly falls in love with. It was so unbelievable, and disappointing in the end that this is the guy she fawns over.
Which character – as performed by Clare Corbett – was your favorite?
Anna's mum is performed really believably and in a cringe-worthy way. It was raw and uncomfortable - just as it was supposed to be. Bravo!
Was A Parcel for Anna Browne worth the listening time?
By about halfway through, I found myself rolling my eyes quite a bit at the way the backstory and character development seems to be thrown together rather haphazardly through the narrator simply adding facts along the way, rather than the picture having been painted in a believable way. I'm not sure that I'd recommend spending 13 hours on this.

It's just THAT GOOD!
What did you love best about A Parcel for Anna Browne?
Wonderful mystery about an unassuming, average woman that draws you in from the start. Beautifully written, great dialogue, setting details without being too sugary. The narrator was incredible with the voices, especially Shaniece? (sp?) I loved this so much I also ordered it in paperback so I can pass it around, and hope Miranda Dickinson finds a North American audience. I've been promoting it all over Facebook and at work and might suggest our local library add it to their collection.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved them all because Miranda Dickinson presented really well drawn characters. Anna was such a lovely character to root for, and her co-workers were hilarious. Of course I loved the romantic lead and the slow-burn romantic tension throughout.
Which character – as performed by Clare Corbett – was your favorite?
Sheniece? (sp). Bloody brilliant. I've been bookmarking some of her great lines and letting my co-workers listen to the incredible range Clare Corbett has for accents. She's become my favourite narrator. Truly amazing.
Any additional comments?
This is the first time I've jumped on an Audible recommendation and I'm so glad I did. I ended up ordering 3 of this author's books on Kindle afterwards as well.

A case for Nanny Ogg
Would you listen to A Parcel for Anna Browne again? Why?
Defiantly. A brilliant story on many levels.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Shenice Wilson she made me laugh. Probably due to Clare Corbets fantastic narration. She glides from character to character seamlessly. Eventually I warmed to Anna. Watching her grow was heart warming.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I don't want to spoil the story so I will just say one with her mother, one with her boss and and one at the end.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I will next time i am feeling ill it will improve how I feel
Any additional comments?
Its a story, a puzzle and its full of life lessons. Well worth a read.

Mysterious
everyone knows that I am a massive Miranda Dickinson fan so I'm really not sure why it took me so long to read this book. I actually ended up dipping in and out of it for about 3 months! In the end, I abandoned my paperback and downloaded the audiobook so I could enjoy Miranda's beautiful writing on my commute to and from work. there were a couple of issues with the audiobook repeating chunks of text but apart from that, I loved having this story read to me, it actually felt all the better that the mornings and evenings are a bit dark and miserable at the moment because I was cosy in my car with Anna Browne and her mysterious parcels!
I really warmed to Anna as a character. I loved watching her transformation over the course of the book, this was the best bit for me. She starts off as a shy and retiring character, happy with her lot in life but then she becomes so much more than this. Where she was at the beginning of the book and where she was at the end of the book are both totally relatable and that is definitely one thing I love about Miranda's characters. There are some fab friendships in this book as well, the Yorkshire guy who lives in her building, the friend at work who she gossips with and many more, so definitely something for everyone here. I did love the little Yorkshire additions to the book because of the Yorkshire friend, I have to say, but then I am biased!
I liked the fact that this book was set in London but also featured details about other places in the UK. Sometimes when books focus on London, they miss out the rest of this diverse country entirely and so I really liked that. And on to the mystery of the parcels. I have to say, i wasn't entirely convinced by the parcels, I did try to put on my whimsical head but I kept having this feeling that if I were on the reception desk of a major building in London and i received a mysterious package, I would assume it was dangerous. If the parcels continued, I think I would be calling the police. As time went on, however, I did warm to the mystery sender, and when that sender was revealed, everything made sense. I did love the big reveal i have to say-you're in for a treat there! My favourite package was obviously the shoes!
All in all this was an enjoyable read. It is a hefty book and so it was much easier when i switched to the audiobook version! If you're looking for something to snuggle up with this winter, this is definitely a heart warming read. if you're a fan of a shorter books then this one may be a bit much for you but if you're a Miranda fan already then you definitely have to give this a go. Now I have an overwhelming desire to send some parcels and make someone happy!

Very careless editing, really annoying!
I have listened to a huge number of audio books now and I have never come across a book where I have heard the same part of text repeated. It would have been forgivable once but there must have been four occasions when the narrator repeated text. If the company producing cannot be bothered to check there offering then it's a pretty poor show!
The story did try to keep you guessing and I listed until the end but I feel the plot line was a little bit thin and was stretched just too much. What was a good plot idea just needed more strands. I got a bit fed up with Anna Brown in the end.

Who edited this?
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The book is great!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Anna is delightful. Soft, real and increasingly strong.
What does Clare Corbett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The narrator is wonderful. I love the different accents she uses.
Do you think A Parcel for Anna Browne needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Why not?
Any additional comments?
The editing in this narration is terrible. It is full of repetitions like a scratched record, and it is distracting and annoying. This is the worst-edited audiobook I have had since using Audible.
