Publisher's Summary

His scandals were right on track until she derailed everything.

As the successful owner of multiple railroad lines, Diana Barton is all too accustomed to fending off suitors seeking to stake their claim on her wealth. In order to keep the wolves at bay, Diana has contrived the perfect plan: appeal to the most notorious rake in London, the Baron Lord Bryant, to ruin her reputation and scare off the worst of the time wasters. The ruse will be no hardship - she’s secretly been fascinated by the man for years.

Lord Bryant is well aware of his questionable reputation. Indeed, he has cultivated the image carefully, and the last thing he wants is a wife. When he’s approached by the younger sister of a business associate, he tells her in no uncertain terms that he cannot help. However, when he sees for himself what she is up against, Bryant grudgingly offers his assistance. Faced with his most complicated entanglement yet, Bryant is firm in his conditions - and Diana knows that to get romantically involved with Bryant would spell certain heartbreak. But as the counterfeit couple grows ever closer, the line between truth and lies becomes blurred, threatening both Lord Bryant’s well-laid plans and the future of Diana’s railroad business.

A True Regency Romance

Clean, light, regency. This story is yummy! With well developed characters, witty dialogue, and light drama, makes this a GREAT read for relaxing, traveling, or the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed this author, and narrator. Highly recommend, especially if you like clean romances.

Excellent clean and sweet!

It’s so nice to find an author that can write an excellent story without all the sex! This is one of my new favorite books!!!
Noah Wall is my absolute favorite female narrator! She is an amazing artist! I absolutely recommend this audiobook!

Best ever!!!

This is my favorite type of romance: quick witty humor, deep/real personal pasts that almost get in the way but not in an annoying "come ooooon already" sort of way. Also loooove romances (appropriate ones like this one) where it's just the love interest characters stories, I get bored when they develop the side characters too much lol.

This book was absolutely delightful and just perfectly checked all my boxes for what I love in a historical romance!

Clean, sweet regency romance

I had read the second book in this series, A proper charade” soe time ago when I stumbled across this one. I wish I had gone back and reread it before I read thsi one, although it is really not necessary. I enjoy the humor this author brings to her novels. I do think she bends the “rules” of the regency romance society a bit, and as another reviewer said, she doesn’t take into consideration the likely consequences that would have befallen a woman during regency society. That being said, I genuinely enjoyed the story anyway. I think I liked the characters and the humor most of all in this novel. I definitely recommend it for a relaxing pleasant read.

Loved it

I had heard so many good things about this book and it lived up to them. I was in an audiobook slump, so decided to try one I would probably like. I did!

Swoony hero who is a scoundrel, but not really. A heroine who is smart. While it has a more contemporary feel with a woman (GASP!) running a business, I think it’s a fantastic read. It’ll definitely be in my re-listen queue.

The narration was seamless and added to the story rather than detracted. She was not noticeable and that’s a compliment. I was able to just be drawn into the story and enjoy it.

another favorite by Noah Wall

a 5 star performance by Noah Wall. she always narrates with just enough feeling to make the story come alive, but not too much that it could be tiring.

the story is really beautiful. the characters are perfectly suited to each other and you believe they will truly be happy together. the story is much more than just a romance, but it all ties together beautifully. I loved to learn about Everton and see him overcome his pain, truly beautiful. Diana was also a really awesome character to follow. I haven't read the books before this one but now I'm certainly intrigued. all in all 10/10 recommend

You'll Fall in Love

This book is incredible! Such a novel idea for the story.
Love the characters! The romance is very special... not like all the others. You will LOL many times. So much chemistry between the couple. Haven't a single complaint. A true joy to read!

Women in a man's world

Diana Barton was running her brothers railway and men were making it difficult for her. especially another railway owner. She finds a rake to help her to discourage them which seems to be working then her brother returns. He is not happy with what Diana using this rake. Good story. Some strong characters. A scene was suggestive but never became uncomfortable. Narrator was good.

Great story

It was an intriguing romance that didn't have any sex scene in it. I would highly recommend it had me fangirling.
