Narrator Ruined This Series

After struggling to listen to previous books in this series, I finally had to give up less than an hour into this one. The narrator’s “Southern” accents assault the ears like Beverly Hillbillies stereotypes (shrill, coarse and uneducated) rather than conveying the soft, lyrical voices of the South Carolinians I have known. As a Southerner, I am accustomed to cringe-worthy attempts by non-Southerners to imitate the many different ways we speak. But this was insulting.

narrative

I love the story line, the narrator not so much. I'm not impressed with her southern draw or male interpretation.

Narrator

The Narrator has been good up until this book. There have been too many characters introduced for her to do a good job. I think other Narrators were needed to help.
