Great Book
Would you consider the audio edition of A Secret Love to be better than the print version?
No, they were both great
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Secret Love?
Loved when Gabriel Cynster finds out the new woman he is obsessed with is actually a child hood friend who he can't seem to stop arguing with.... I love it, when he realizes it.
Its gets even better when Altheana knows, he knows... and tries to avoid him without making a scene in in a ballroom full of people. She is so classy.
Which character – as performed by Simon Prebble – was your favorite?
Rupurt(Gabriel) Cynster, but my all time favourite is Sebastian (Devil) Cynster. He is a CLASSIC character.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
At times I actually wanted to smack some people upside their heads.... sometimes it was Gabriel for not knowing when to shut up! Other times it was Altheana for enabling her whole family to lay back while she risks herself to save them.
I really loved the exchanges between Gabriel and his valet Chance ( named because he saved Gabriel from being killed in the 'slums ' of London, and so Gabriel gave him a chance to better himself.... it's really funny.
Any additional comments?
This is my 2nd favourite Cynster story.
First will always be Devil's Bride.

Sir, please help me save my family
Alathea has a financially incompetent father. He has twice brought the family to the brink of bankruptcy and ruin. The first time Alathea was able to accomplish a recovery. This second time it seems it is going to be impossible to save the family. Her father has been fooled by an unknown crook into signing a note investing in a ficticious gold company. The note is for much more than her family is worth. Alathea seeks help from Gabriel Cynister. He was her childhood friend but they had been out of touch for years. She wants him to find the crook and retrieve the note. Tough job but Gabriel is attracted to the woman who has concealed her identity with a veil. Romance and intrigue ensue.
Narrator, Simon Prebble is fantastic – wonderful smooth baritone voice and great inflection.

How many super tall women do you know?
I read this series a long time ago and enjoyed it. Knowing that book 1 and 5 were the ones I enjoyed the most I picked them up when they were on sale. I think I read the books verses listened to this series the first time around as it didn’t seem as cheesy before, or maybe my taste have change. I couldn’t help but laugh at the wording during the first sex scene, it was lame. The other books in the series were good, but I didn’t want to listen to the whole series again. I don’t think I will get anymore from this author, while I like the book okay, it wasn’t one I want to repeat for the third time. Narrator sounds like an old man, he doesn’t do bad, but he is not a great fit for the book.

I really enjoyed this book
It has a slow start, but hold tight, you’ll really enjoy it. I really liked the veiled woman theme, and that he won her body, but he still had to discover her identity. Typically, about quarter, or halfway through Stephanie’s books, the heroin catapults her v-card, which... Does indeed occur, but Gabrielle still had so much to discover, and unravel.
I loved that they had history. It’s not the typical maiden that stumbles into his arms, like Devil’s Bride. They are friends first, she doesn’t hold her tongue at him, or fear any of the Cynster boys. They’re such old friends, they can’t even imagine being lovers... Until... They do.
I’ve only read 5 of Stephanie’s books, so far. I rank this as my second favorite. First place is still Scandal’s Bride... Catriona is just so bad ass.

A definite favorite!
Secret Love is another book I read back when it was first released in 2000, but it is a book I’ve re-read so many times. When I saw it available in Audible Escape, I had to check it out. It was as good as I remembered, and I have to say the narrator Simon Prebble did an amazing job with both Gabriel and Alathea’s voices.
I won’t go into too much detail about the storyline since there have been so many reviews already about this book, but I think what really made me love this book so much was the relationship that Gabriel and Alathea had, in the past and present. They have known each other for years and as they grew older the more uncomfortable they felt around each other. It became so bad that they became childhood nemeses. But now Alathea needs Gabriel’s expertise. Her family’s fortune was being threatened and thinking Gabriel would not be inclined to help she comes up with a veil and a plan. The consequences of the plan changed the outcome of both their lives.
There is so much more I loved about this book. I loved Gabriel’s reaction, after a night of thinking about things, when he found out who the veiled lady really was. He is a true Cynster, knowing exactly who Alathea was and is to him. And Alathea, the self-less spinster, who gave up her future to make sure her family was always safe. The two together as the veiled lady and Gabriel and then when it was Alathea and Gabriel, they were explosive together.
I can re-read and now re-listen to this book over and over again.

Beautiful! I loved it.
I just adore this author and every story that flows from her pen. A lady shrouded in secrecy and a man who wants to help, save and protect. Inexplicably drawn to her he demands kisses as payment for his services. She is helpless to deny him and thus starts a love story that will sweep you away. There is intrigue, drama, romance and suspense and, of course, awesome sexual tension and hot, passionate love scenes. Outstanding narration by Simon Prebble will keep you listening long into the night. Five stars and highly recommended.

Loved this!!
I liked everything about this book. I have read all of previous books in this series and was a little worried that it just couldn't be as good or better than the others...I was wrong. I laughed throughout and almost teared up in a couple of spots. Just loved it.
The narrator is excellent, one of my favourites alongside Roslyn Landor.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is into this style of publication and to anyone wanting to try this kind of story for the first time.
