Story
The magical tea has worn off. My eyes are wide open. And it’s with horror that I realize the fate of two realms rests on my shoulders, after my mother’s ultimate sacrifice. Rubezahl has returned far sooner than I thought possible. And not only that....He has something crucial, if we are to win. He’s taken something I cannot live without. There is no option but to race, and decipher the puzzle, to save the man I love, the friends more important to me than my own life, and humans and fae alike. Two realms. Only I can save them. We’re screwed.

Story
Mercenary Casia Greythorne cares about two things: completing whatever her latest job is and earning enough coin to buy the expensive medicine that's keeping her mentor alive. So when the king himself offers her a job, she can't resist the massive reward he offers - even if it means working with Captain Elander, the arrogant, mysterious right-hand to that king. Her partner may be infuriating, but at least their mission seems simple and quick enough: investigate the origins of the strange plague that's been ravaging their empire, help find a cure, and then call it a day.

Full Blurb Coming Soon!
Because no spoilers when you accidentally read the blurb of Book Two, before you listen to the whole of Book One, is a good thing.
Kelly: Are you sure you want a blank blurb though?
Shannon: We could make it interesting. Like, we could make something up. You know, as if we were writers?
Kelly: Sounds dodgy, my friend. Dodgy.
Shannon: What does that mean anyway? I don't like dodgeball.
Kelly: 0_0
Shannon: Well do you like dodge ball? I'm not fast enough. Always get hit in the head.
Kelly: >sighs< Maybe we should stop now. Lest we give them the idea we're having fun with our job.
Shannon: That would be terrible...okay, I'll stop. Just...one...more...thing.

A Throne of Feathers and Bone Indeed!
From uncertainty to giant revelations, this series is really turning more into an epic fantasy! I may not be familiar with Kelly St. Clare’s writing but this series really reminds me of Mayer’s Elementals series more and more. Regardless; the journey with all the twists, turns, surprises and revelations are new and exciting. The first part of the book, the main character Ali is a bit of a bumbling mess trying her best to find her way through the obstacles she faces while attempting to discern friend from foe, and she makes her fair share of mistakes. But as the story progressed, it quickly drew me in and left me wondering myself what would be around the next corner and how all the pieces fit together to make the bigger picture. That’s one thing I LOVE about Mayer’s books is her unpredictability yet Easter eggs of clues she hides throughout the entire series. What was irrelevant in a previous book could be a significant piece of the puzzle.
As with A Crown of Honey and Ash, both Mayer’s and St. Clare’s writing meshes beautifully into one voice to weave this wonderful story. There isn’t much time wasted retelling the previous events which gives more time for all of the critical plot developments in A Throne of Feathers and Bone. I love how there is a decent amount of time establishing the romance Kallik embraces without distracting completely from the epic fantasy. The main story arc is complete by the end with a great foe revealed in the final chapters setting another great hook for the next book in the series. With these newest revelations, I desperately want to know what happens next ASAP. Mayer & St. Clare deserve another ovation for this world they’ve created together because it’s truly captivating and brilliant!

Slow
First book was very good and interesting. This book however is dragged out and kind of boring. Spoiler alert but, the part that annoyed me most was when she found out her human mother wasn’t her mom but her surrogate mother. Like, she’s still your mother and took care of you. She never said otherwise *eye roll*. Ungrateful.

Another wild, and emotional ride
This book was even better than the first because we get to see and learn more about Faolan, and their interactions are touching at times, frustrating other times, and smoking hot many times. This book is also packed with drama and mystery, I was questioning things left and right, where they should go, who they should trust. Kallik has so much on her shoulders but she keeps trying. I love her friendship with Cinth, it is great to see. We meet some new people and learn some shocking history. I am anxious and excited to see what comes in the next book.

Fae, Giants and Kelpies.... Oh My
I started the second book of The Honey and Ice series yesterday and have just finished.
I'm absolutely addicted and I'm so sad that there is only one book left.
A Throne of Feathers and Bone threw so many curveballs and had many twists and turns. Yet, I couldn't stop reading. As I said yesterday, this story isn't like anything I have read before. Small parts of it are used across most fantasy stories based on Fae. These authors have brought a wonderful world to the pages.
If you enjoy a strong female heroine, a forbidden love, magic, fae, giants and more give this series a try.

first - so glad they chose to stick with the narrator from the first book. she is perfect for this!
second, while this installment doesn't move as quickly as the first and the jumping back and forth between given names and nicknames can get a little confusing the story makes it worth sticking it out. personally I could do with a little less of the love interest stuff, kind of felt like it was being pushed a lot. the 2 intimate scenes were easy to skip past (less than 30 seconds each) And again, the storyline makes it worth it.
looking forward to part 3!

what is there to say? I don't want to give too much away. The story continues with the characters and relationships developing and forming, who can you trust? That is certainly a good question. I was on the edge of my seat with this fast paced installment.

Repetitive
I found the sequel really quite repetitive. it seemed like every chapter her and Lan touched causing something bad to happen, and every other chapter they would run into some kind of enemy for her to fight.
I'm up to chapter 19 as I write this and am feeling like I just want to finish it now to be honest.

Twists and turns
Just when you think you’ve got it all sussed out things take a turn leaving you having a wtf happened there moment. I don’t think I’ve ever run an audiobook back so much to make sure I’d heard correctly before this one. I love Kallick finally finds out who she is and the chemistry between her and Faolin is off the charts. I can’t what for the conclusion of this series but then I’ll be sorry it’s ended .

The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. Bring on book 3 !
SOOOO happy this is a trilogy. The style of writing, fantasy action, sexy hot romance and humour tick everything I love in fantasy reading. As always, narrator is incredible and nails it.

Amazing both books flew past in a blur. I listen while driving. As scary as it might be I don't remember the road while being engrossed in this book. wish there was a Third book with what happens next with queen, underhill, Lan and the giant

***Awesome series***
I loved it and wants more and maybe next book there will be more sexy scene. The narrative is brilliant i am a huge fan of Elizabeth Evans. I never realised who the bad guy was so the twist was very unexpected and sad.
