Publisher's Summary

The only thing protecting me from the demons...is the beast. Nyfain, the golden dragon prince, tried to set me free. But there is no freedom in this kingdom. Not for anyone.

The demons have sought me out. They want to trap me. To use me against Nyfain.

It's only a matter of time before they call in the demon king.

Nyfain thinks I should save myself. That I should barter with the demon king to escape this place. But can I give myself to the creature responsible for torturing the people I love?

In order to save them, though, I might not have a choice.

Must read series

I regret starting this series but love that I started this series. It is filthy but fantastically so. It is hilarious, and heartbreaking. It is everything. To say I am devastated to have to wait until February for the third is putting it lightly. I also loved the narrator and I am highly judgmental on book narrators they can make it break the story imo but that’s just me.

XXXplicit!!!

Lol i would say that this book and this series lends itself more to the genre of erotica then fantasy romance. I enjoyed the hell out of it, but people are weird about this kind of thing and this series is definitely far more explicit with the sexual content than K.F. Breene usually is. i could see some people complaining....Lmao, damn i wish i could use some of Finley's more interesting insults for those people... anywho be warned this boook is not for the pearl clutchers.
I would have given this book a five star all around, but i didn't really like the male lead all that much. I mean anyone who goes through what he has for nearly twenty years would probably be a little bit surly. But the brooding, i'm not good enough for you thing gets kind of old after a bit. It is helped a great deal by Finley 2's hilarious dismissal of everything that isn't her going to bang bang town.
I love Finley, she is hands down the most competent person this author has created yet. Finley 2 is just icing on a decadent cake of awesome. I cannot wait to see what happens next!!!!

I really wanted to like it…but couldn’t finish it.

I listened to the first book and didn’t fall in love with either of the main characters but I liked the premise of the story and the world it was set in so I decided to get this one as well.

What a mistake!

The only character I actually hope to hear about is the drunkard sexually abused butler. On that note, I have no issue with kinky sex but the sexual abuse (esp of the nonconsensual sort) all around in nearly every sex scene is written like a joke. Like…wth?

AND I’m all for brooding Alpha males, but dude! What the hell is there to love about this guy?

And the inner monologue of the MC got pretty tiring very fast. Why the f*** does she say f*** in every sentence if not every clause?

And now audible won’t let me return either books. Nice!

Delicious sexy captivating emotional heartbreak

First, to everyone that complained about the sex in this book, many reviewers had warned you this wasn’t your typical vanilla romance trope. This is NOT a YA book with YA romance. This is about two very broken people who are stuck in a very horrible environment. It is not for the faint of heart. The main characters talk extremely dirty to each other and have very very deliciously dirty sex that’s not conventional in any way. And it happens A LOT. But in between the sex, there is a devastating story that leaves you breathless. The sex plays into the storyline. So if you don’t want to read/listen to something like this, then DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. I think it’s unfair to potential listeners as well as the author if you went into the story knowing this, bought it anyways, then decide that “OMG there is SEX in this book! And the SEX is… is…. DIRTY!”. Yes, people have different views on sex and this isn’t your typical missionary position going to pound town type. Which I for one love because we deviants need that too!

ANYWAYS!

KFB is an absolute genius in this series. The way the story unfolds and the way Finley and Nyfain evolve throughout the story is just so beautifully done. This is my favorite series I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.

*SMALL SPOILER* The part where they have their “date” and Finley was “blindfolded”, was *chef kiss*. Even if they weren’t their firsts, they experienced this together and it was naughty and beautiful and emotional. Even the banter between these two is so amazing I seriously live for it. So many other series try for that connection and fail miserably.

You cant help but cheer for these two and be absolutely enthralled with every chapter. It was so hard to put down. The last sex scene was just so…… emotional. I was seriously in book hangover when it ended. All I could think of, breath, hear, feel, was Nyfain saying “Finley” in the last sex scene. And when he cried saying he couldn’t let her go??? My heart just broke. Like I was literally leaving my own boyfriend behind. It was a weird feeling, but one I crave when reading books. And that ending? I cried. Full on heartbreak and emotion from a man so damaged. I’ve read so many series and 95% of them are trash and predictable with the female MC making dumb decisions and is a weak character in general. Finley is not this. She knows who she is, where she came from, and doesn’t dwell on it. She offers herself just the way she truly is, like it or leave it she doesn’t care. I needed this in my main MC.

Tillie Hooper is such a fantastic narrator it really brought everything together. Seriously she is AMAZING. 10 stars!

I just can’t gush enough about this series. So many emotions are going through me! I already have the 3rd book but I’m going to hold off until the last book comes out because I rather wait knowing I have another book to hold me off. I’m excited to continue but also a little scared. I know what’s coming in the next book and my emotions are already all over the place, I don’t know if my heart can take it! So now I wait until book 4 is closer to being released before I continue onto book 3 so I have less of a wait once book 3 ends (because I KNOW it’ll be a wild ride and one hell of an ending cliffhanger). Now I just have to find another less than satisfying series to hold me off until then :( back to the naive bratty teenage lead tropes because authors don’t know how a strong women really acts. :( :( :(

Deliciously perfect!

This story line/series is absolutely purrrfect in every way! With just the right amount of daring adventures, dramatic moments, hysterical comedy (pay close attention to the butler who isn’t a butler lol) a beautiful, brave, defiant heroine, and a sexy, sensual, darkly brooding Hero (who I believe I’m deeply in love with!). You will feel sadness, excitement, fall in love with every romantic moment, and OH THE SEX!! OMG! I read reviews before starting the first book and was still shocked! In a wonderfully Erotic hunt down your hubby or significant other and make them submit to any unattended (in my case lady bits) they had been neglecting prior to you diving in, and not coming up for air during your binge of these books! Least to say since I’m stuck not so patiently awaiting the next one, in my case, my husband will have a lot of free time to catch up! WARNING!! If you are blandly vanilla, don’t have an sexually open mind, or sense of humor! MOVE ALONG! These are not the books for you! For the rest of you sexually awakened and deeply romantic book worms, boyyy have you been missing out, and don’t waste one more min!

So, this book was great! I do have to say that I wished for more action and less detailed sex scenes, but I was prepared from book 1. I will say that the performance was amazing. SHE is a 5 star. Thank you, you made this book even better. 💜

OMG OMG OMG

I to actually wait a day before doing a review. I'm still recovering from my book hangover. There aren't enough words in my vocabulary to express how freaking amazing A Throne of Ruin is! I'm so happy that I only have to wait until Feb. for the next book!!! KF Breene, you're a genius!!! Also kudos to Tillie Hooper, your narration is perfection and brings these deep and crazy characters to life!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Disappointing

95% smut, 4% Finley doubting herself, and 1% plot progression. Hadriel was honestly the best part. Really enjoyed the first book, but after reading reviews if the next two I'm not going to waste my time.

a ruin

I enjoyed the first book but this book is padded out with sex scenes.
Listening to the narrator describe sex is very very boring. Towards the end of the book when she goes to the salon and he attends her in n more ways than one ...gets too much. When I went through 2 whole chapters of sex and small talk I decided to stop listening .
This is the first audio book I haven't finished but I just don't want to listen to a description of sex....I want adventure a good story line . I may listen to the last few chapters once I get over the disappointment. This is the first time this Author has disappointed me .
Half of me wants to find out what happens but I don't want to buy a sex book. I'm not a prude I just don't want to waste my time listening to a description of sex ....it doesn't add to the story at all.
I was wishing she got captured.
I can't believe 2 whole chapters were full of sex what a waste . Actually it could of gone on for more as I stopped listening.

Complete heartbreak

This series is mind-blowinginly good, it's funny, intreeging, inspiring and so full of emotions. The ending broke my heart though, but I hope the future will bring me answers to what happens to the characters.
I will now try to exist without the answers to what happens, and cry for the characters fate.

Wildly Steamy, Romantic, Raw & Compelling!📙🔥🐎😍

A Throne of Ruin (Deliciously Dark Fairytales, #2)
By: K.F. Breene
Audiobook 🎧
Narrated by: Tillie Hooper
Length: 14 hrs and 10 mins

This book picks up right where AROR left of.
Finley wakes & is mad to discover that Nyfain left before he was fully healed. She's determined to rescue him from himself, no matter what his letter & the hole in her middle says!😢 Here starts some very enjoyable & panty melting, letters with book exchanges between them both.😍🔥

Finely eventually gets back to the castle. She's been missed by Hadriel especially & her maid, Leyla, is so happy to have her back as well.😁 The drafts that she left with them have caused some hilarious revelations. They all fear it will bring the Demon King back to them to find out what's happening though!😳

Nyfain and Finley have made strides in their relationship. She's *very* willing to try new things that intrigue her. Just because she's a strong, independent woman, it doesn't mean she can't enjoy giving up control at times, Will Nyfain be as willing to try the same though?🧐 Feelings are becoming tangled and their animals are very pushy! She's starting to wish they could be mates.💔

Finley tentatively thinks she may have finally found a cure? Well it seems very good at slowing the disease at least.🙏 Then a young girl from a different village shows up at the castle, she's desperate & begs for help. Now we'll meet a side of Finley we've never seen before! Hold on tight.😱💥

This book actually outstripped AROR by one whole star for pace, character development, storyline, steam, tension, angst ... Well everything if I'm honest! So, was I too hasty with my 5 star for AROR? No, I don't think so.🤔 I believe the Author just turned EVERYTHING UP a notch. This is a 5🌟+ read. I was blown away.🤯
From when a certain someone arrives on the scene, it went to *yet another level* again!😲 That ending though .... Agonising.😭💔😭

This narrator deserves medals & statuettes for her ability to bring these varied characters & the often salacious, situations they're found in, to life with her vocal abilities.😍🌟 She had me doubled over laughing at her acting of Hadriel & a few others then squirming during the library scene. This went on throughout the book. The utter heartbreak that she conveyed in the last couple of chapters is sheer gold dust!😭💔 I can't imagine anyone else narrating this series now. Truly & completely compelling and unmissable.🌟🌹🌟

Pure capsaicin (Santa, can I please have my own Hadriel?)

Listened! Devoured it! Loved it!
(Disclaimer: if you don’t like spice, this isn’t for you. If you do, this is pure capsaicin)

Gotta say the first book got me feeling a bit sheepish… Throne of Ruin got me hooked!

Enjoyed both, but the second instalment brought forth the best in all characters.

Well, that’s not exactly true, Hadriel has been AMAZING since his first appearance. Love him. Want one!!

The heroine stole my heart and Nyfain…. Well, the soft filling made him an even tastier beast.

It had me until butt stuff.

Only 1/3 of women like arse sex and of those, most prefer vaginal sex. stop it! like ffs. It is an American thing to think that is standard. Porn lets women down, don't follow with books.

This series was definitely not what I was expecting, but I got more than I bargained for.
The characters were insane, it was fantastic.
Erotic, hilarious, dark, sexy, confusing, and intense.
Absolutely loved every second. Can't wait for the third book, I have a feeling it's going to be epic.
