Publisher's Summary

They say you should never make a deal with the devil, but what about with the Prince of the Underworld?

Fresh off a breakup and an eviction, I started my day like any other: a book in one hand, a coffee in the other, and faking that can-do attitude inspirational memes are made of. I was ready to take on the world — and I did. Unfortunately, it was the Underworld.

One freak accident later, I’m standing face-to-face with the sexy-as-sin and dangerously powerful Prince of the Underworld. He has a few burning questions for me — like how a mere human unlocked the door to the Underworld’s prison and released its prisoners.

I’d sure as hell like to know, too, because I have no freaking clue.

Now, instead of a forgettable bookstore clerk, I’m newly famous for doing the impossible. The wrong people want to thank me, and the rest want me dead. Spoiler alert: The Dark Prince definitely doesn’t want to thank me.

I’ll do anything to get my life back to normal and he’ll do anything to recapture the escapees. We make a deal: He’ll keep my enemies at bay, and I’ll find a way to return the prisoners.

What could possibly go wrong?

Compelling

Another fantastic book by the talented McKenzie Hunter! It will leave you enthralled and captivated. I couldn't put it down! I willingly lost sleep so I could keep listening! It was both humorous and deep. I cannot wait until the next book!!

fantastic start to a new series!

This was a super good book, with really good narration. I'm totally loving the Underworld Prince, and our MC, of course. The dynamics between everyone are interesting and I'm really excited to see how they evolve.
I'm driving cross country right now, and each time we stopped and headed back to the car my boyfriend was eager to get back to listening.
We both loved it and can't wait for the next one!

Good intro

Nice introduction. I definitely have so many questions, and I very much look forward to getting answers in the next installment. Totally enjoyed quirky, ballsy Luna. She sticks to her guns no matter the threat or temptation.

An unexpected treat

Luna is has become one of my favorites. She is brilliant, resourceful and sassy. I found myself laughing out loud. It was a mix of mystery, humor, and a bit of romance. I loved how things unraveled and I am looking forward to the next book.

So Good!

I love the worlds that McKenzie Hunter creates and this is no exception. Luna is your everyday person doing what I consider to be a dream job of working in a book store. She has no idea what is in store for her when she begins reading a book on the supernatural. I love how she was completely unaware of the supernatural world around her. I also love how accepting she is of that supernatural world and how she wants to help despite the craziness of it. The narrator does an amazing job of bringing this world to life and I love that about her. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Excellent!

Hurry up with book 2! I can’t wait! Love the premise, so different than all the 99.9% of these books. <3

Stick through the info dump

While the narrator’s pace and tone took about ½ the book to get used to the writing itself took about the same. Lots of monotonous details and info dumping shows less skilled world building than I would have expected. Now having said that the last ½ of the book starts to reveal a story and a FMC that I will continue to read.
Happy Reading

Fun, Slow Burn Fantasy with Fantastic Narrator

This is a really fun, slow burn romance Fantasy audiobook. I really like the character of Luna, and I love the chemistry between her and Dominic. The books ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I can’t wait for the second book. The narrator is fantastic and really brought the story to life.

Frustrating Read

I have read and listened to many of McKenzie Hunter book and this was the first time I didn't finish one. The story line seemed interesting and the narrator was good. The writing however was exhausting. Yes exhausting. It seems like a theraus was open the entire time it was writen. Everytime there was a description of something; clothes, person, environment, location, and especially a feeling or emotion the words used were words that NO ONE uses in everyday conversation. If it hadn't been for the context around the words I would have had to pull a dictionary to look up words. I was disappointed that I couldn't continue to listen.
