Publisher's Summary

Persephone and Hades are engaged. In retaliation, Demeter summons a snowstorm that cripples New Greece and refuses to lift the blizzard unless her daughter calls off her engagement.

When the Olympians intervene, Persephone finds her future in the hands of ancient gods, and they are divided. Do they allow Persephone to marry Hades and go to war with Demeter or prohibit their union and take up arms against the God of the Dead?

Nothing is certain but the promise of war.

Contains mature themes.

Slightly repetitive

This book is a bit repetitive. It could use a bit more plot, as well.

Meh

Honestly, I’m sticking through with this series because I’ve invested so much time and energy into them I feel like I can’t quit now. The idea behind the story is great, but I feel like it gets lost with all the sex scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some steamy interactions between the main characters, but when it happens so often it kinda loses its touch/impact. Also, I wish Persephone wasn’t so whiny. Gets pretty annoying at times. But overall, it’s still a very interesting read if you are into Greek mythology and into bad boy lovers.

Good story but way too much sex, gets annoying

The actual storyline is very entertaining…but the constant sex takes away from the story…i found myself fast fowarding to get the actual plot.

Loved it!

this is by far one of my favorite retellings of the Hades x Persephone myth, however I really wish there wasn't a sex scene EVERY chapter. We get it, alright?
Other than that, can't wait for the next one.

Disappointing Cliffhanger

I tried , I TRULY TRIED to stick by this series but by the 3rd book I’ve only finished out of commitment.
1. First TOO MUCH sex , it was like watching a Tv show , 10 minutes of plot and 30 minutes of commercials. 1st book felt good, Second book it was ok , by the 3rd book I was SKIPPING THE BORING sex scenes. It was totally overdone.

2. Persephone acts like a Teenager. She has no believe in herself. She’s this almighty powerful goddess and yet she keeps doubting herself.
I wanted to Pull my eyes Out at the end when she’s regretting her mother death and Theseus steals the helmet , like WHERE IS HADES , this is HIS REALM !!!

3. The author decides that after 3 painful books WE DONT DESERVE A DESCENT ENDING. Like give us a break !! We endured So much sex and fillers , we at least deserve a good battle and an ENDING.

4. Her nightmares about being ALMOST raped , this was totally UNNECESSARY and a filler. Hades saved her and she didn’t suffer any consequences.

In conclusion I had hoped this series would at least Get better on the 3rd book , BUT it never did.
Aside from the Sex on almost every chapter Nothing really happens until the Very end of book 3 , and is a CLIFFHANGER. I would have been happy if at least we get 1 good battle , BUT NO we don’t deserve that.

Ugh! Lacking so much substance!

I very seldom submit my reviews as I am not sure how many people actually read them. However, after listening to the first to Hades and Persephone books, I was so excited and had such high hopes for this third book. To say it came up short and lacked anything of real substance, is such an understatement. I feel like every other paragraph was just about them having sex, and no real story. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good steamy sex scene, but it was almost generic by the end of the first quarter of the book. I actually did some thing with this book that I never do; I marked it as finished with two chapters still to go because I just could not deal with it. Such a shame, I was really looking forward to how the story would grow and progress between them. Alas, I am done.

Amazing - can’t wait for the next book

This book made me so happy, if I could rate it higher I would. The relationship between the main characters became healthier in this book, and both character growth and plot were written excellently.

Narrator is also very talented and brought to life the story and individual characters. I appreciated the softness she brought to Persephone.

Cannot wait to get the next one started l

I enjoyed the start of this book then struggled to keep myself interested as I had been. I love these books but I found there was just so much sex in this one, pretty much every chapter had some in and I got a bit bored but it didn’t last long be dude once each time they finished something interesting would proceed with the story line and have me hooked again. The ending was fantastic with the cliff hanger ready for the next book and I cannot wait to see how they work fair in all this. The narrator does a brilliant job with the different voices, makes it so easy differentiate each character in the books.

Incredible story

The story continues so well but there is just an excessive about of smut mixed in that is just boring and repetitive.
The story line itself is great but I really hope the next one dials back the boring sex scenes.

What a waste of time

I honestly don’t know why I bought the third book but I think it was because of so many good reviews. Persephone is a juvenile character who never grows in maturity. Three books should have given ample time to develop her character from locked away child to a fearsome queen, but it never happened. She always waited for someone to save her. I would say don’t bother reading unless you’re a teen but there’s a lot of sex.

Keeps getting better!

Exciting and morish! I tried to pace myself, knowing that I'll have to wait for the next book but I just couldn't stop listening! The world building and character development has me thinking of this series long after I've put it down. And that cliffhanger - I am on the edge of my seat with anxious anticipation!!
