I guess I’m not the only one...

Persephone was/is an awful character. It seems like I wasn’t the only one that thinks that. The entire book was MC creating all of the problems and then complains about how unfair everything was. Shes too naive and I actually feel sorry for Hades a lot of the time. She’s just so mean to Hades and blows everything out of proportion. I put in the time so I’m going to finish the book but I don’t think I’ll finish the series.

Sooooo good!

This book is amazing! The world that she has written is beautiful and well rounded. Does it have its flaws yes. But it is nothing in the world that is going on. I love this story so much and can’t wait to get my hands onto the next book.

Good read, even better narrator

The narrator is what made these books so good. She read with such passion. Pretty good series, excited for the third book to come out

Great Series! Can't wait for the next one!!

St. Clair's books are fun to listen to. Espically with Meg Sylvan reading! The story is very good and I love the romance and passion that St. Clair puts into the characters. I actually cried a little at points. love it!

the main character was annoying

I had fun with the first book but I couldn't make it through this one. Persephone was so immature and obnoxious. I couldn't like her or root for her.

Meh..

I really want to say I enjoyed this book. However, I am saddened to say Persephone made this series almost unbearable. I had such high expectations for this series, being a Hades and Persephone fan, but it fell short. If it weren't for my inability to complete something I have already started, I would have stopped this pain in the beginning.

Could not even finish this...

This book is just... Horrible. It has the potential to be a good plot, but it's ruined by inconsistent characters and abusive relationships. Everyone is hot and cold and immature. And I'm all aboard for amut but every single line is excessive. There's no story because we have to deal with the inner monolog of Persephone telling us how all of her problems disappear when Hades is near, and then it's time to fight again! Just... Trash. I wanted to like it. I tried so hard. But especially if this is aimed at a younger crowd, the takeaway is disturbing, to say the least.

Eh I just don’t know about this one

So I love the story of Persephone and Hades and love finding new versions of it to read, but this one just rubs me the wrong way personally. And almost all of jt has to do with the character of Persephone in these books. I’m of course going to read the third one in some small hope that she gets better but I don’t know if I’ve ever disliked a main character more in a book I have read or listened too. I find her to be whiny, self absorbed, and just over all not very likeable and hate that everyone in the books seems to constantly just excuse her behavior.

Now with that said I love all the other side characters! They are so rich with personality and charm that you’re able to really connect with them and root for them and as I’m reading I’m just like dang wish you weren’t friends with her.

I probably get wait to connected when reading but just my thoughts here

Not as good as the first, very Angsty

This book had a very angry tone the whole time. The main character is a pain and it's hard to listen to. This book is not as good as the first, I forced myself to finish it. I will not be buying the next book.

I do enjoy the narrators way of describing things though. She did a fantastic job with her pace and tone.

Decent spicy scenes, though there are a lot better out there. The frequency of the sex scenes was also really obnoxious.

Meh, I totally agree with some of the other review

I really loved the first book, so wasn't really put off by the poor reviews. I didn't feel as strongly as some, and think its good enough to past time on a commute, but the plot was a bit disappointing. Persephone does seem to go running to Hecate every other chapter, and she is a little intolerable (but not enough to make me stop listening).

One of the main plot lines took me by surprise. It just felt so random and I feel it will ruin the third book...if you listen you will get what I'm talking about.

One thing I did love was Hermes, his character is fantastic and really shines in this book.

One bug bear, and I don't know where the blame lies, but the driver Anthony changes between a cyclops and ogre in every other chapter. Its just annoying that this detail wasn't picked up. There were a few other little mistakes as well.

Overall I liked it enough that I will look forward to the final book.

I listened to the first book in two days and this book in another two

A fun escape buuut

Okay so I usually don’t like to be negative with my reviews, there are elements in this book that I enjoyed, and I loved the first book. But…Persephone was just a little bit annoying in this book. Gah! I don’t want to be mean but she would just jump the gun and get mad at everything and the typical “lack of communication” trope came in to play a lot. But I guess main characters aren’t always meant to be perfect and they have to be flawed. I still enjoyed this book but I was getting a little frustrated at times. With that being said though, I’m eagerly awaiting the next books release!

Very Disappointed.

Persephone constant immature, insecure, whining very off-putting. Struggled to finish. Narrator was very good, unfortunately terrible story.

Good but....

So obviously a lot of the *themes* present in the previous book are continued but this one felt... rushed and just not well thought out. At any given moment they go from hating each other to having their "lips collide" and it kind of takes away from the actual plot. Sure there would be many readers looking just for the more graphic side of this novel but for those who were interested in the storyline, it's a disappointment.

Yawn.

I couldn't finish the book. Persphone is insecure and annoying. Hades, is meant to be a God? Their relationship is cringy and only built on sex, no love, no emotion though they claim to be. The storyline is weak with alot of unnecessary happenings that lead nowhere. This book had a lot of potential but It's just all over the place.

A nice sequel

I enjoyed the sequel in the way it rounded out the original book, included more gods/esses and made a nice visual for the community surrounding. A few PerHades scenes could have been chosen to appear more selected (after some traumatic scenes, they seemed misplaced). Persephone’s control and exploration of power would have been a better storyline than the Janitor/Maintenance man but overall, it was enjoyable and looking forward to book 3.

err....

I didn't mind the storyline. It was quite entertaining.. Although it could have been better with less sex scenes (or 20).. Persephone was also very annoying, self centred and unlikeable in this book.

So Many Choices

Here we see Persphone struggle with career, friendships and coming into who she is. For so long she has denied her power and the fact she is a goddess wanting to be mortal. Dating Hade's puts a strain on her ability to do so, there for putting a strain on their relationship. We follow her navigating a difficult part of her life, and to be fair some things she does are quite frustratingly stupid but it's so well written in the fact that it's definately things people do every day even though we know they are stupid choices to make.
The Audible a few times said the wrong character name and I only knew who they were talking about due to context.

Great story line, even better story telling

The book was well written, of course the raunchy bits were great but so is the love aspect too. I hope there’s going to be more as I just binge listened to both books in this series and can’t wait!
The narrator made this audio book for me, she so perfectly feels what the characters are feeling which entangles you more in the story.
