Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fan-fiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life).

Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death…the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. One of the best series ever. Seriously.
This is one of the best series I have ever read, and certainly one of the best narrations I have ever heard. The books are clever and funny. and from the start of the first book, The Lightning Struck Heart, I was immediately invested in the characters and their stories. The books are also tragic and heart wrenching and every other thing a story needs to be satisfying. Michael Lesley is an incredible narrator who truly gives each of the characters a unique voice.

Thanks Gurl!
I'm struggling on how to open this. I want to open with a strong "BI**H! ARE YOU SERIOUS?" then drone on about all the ways this book dragged me through the proverbial "feels" and angered me at the TMI sex scenes. You can't be telling our gay business like that TJ! GURL! GAY CODE!! SHHHHHH!!! Secrets gurl... (I capitalized that sh*t) However, that may be off-putting to the masses of straight Klune hopefuls drooling over his too cute face. Gods know I don't want to spoil their dreams. Then maybe I should open with the ever so standard pros vs cons of the story but, that always leaves such a sour taste like your man after a hard day's work...
Mother Cracker! I just don't know how to write this except, it's NSFW, the story has heart wrenching plot twists, and made me cry from sadness and "heart boners". LOL. READ IT!! ...errr LISTEN TO IT!! You won't be disappointed.

Definite FAVORITE! A++
This final book did not disappoint. Everything about this series is just so excellently done.
I read the other three books in the series via audiobook, but for this final book, I couldn't listen to it fast enough so switched between the audio and print book.
I have loved this series, but this final book was perfection. So, so, so good. TJ Klune is just one of the best story-tellers around and he's found the perfect narrator in Michael Lesley for this series. The characters are everything and the two partner to bring them to glorious life.
I've LOVED this series and highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it. But you have to read all four books. This is NOT a book that will stand on it's own.
Read the series...it's ridiculous and funny and is beyond anything I've ever read. But at the same time, it's heartfelt, sweet, and so romantic. Ryan and Sam...gah, I cannot love them anymore. In fact, there are so many characters in these books that I simply want to know in real life. I laughed out loud so many times and sobbed out loud a couple times, too. This series is just everything.
And I highly recommend it on audio. Michael Lesley is KING OF NARRATORS!!

So sad it's over :( Michael Lesley is spectacular!
From the highest highs to the depths of despair, TJ Klune’s Tales From Verania flew me there and back again, and again, and again… I don’t think another series will ever capture my heart quite like this one has, and I’m so sad it’s over.
The spectacular fourth and final episode, A Wish Upon the Stars, is everything I’d hoped for. Mr. Klune delivers love, humor, friendship, and yet in spite of some tense moments (and a wee bit of angst) I’d do it all over again in a lightning-struck heartbeat.
If you’ve been thinking of starting this phenomenal read in order series, I’m just going to say it straight up: read if you must, but audio is the way to go! Michael Lesley’s stellar performance brings this tale to life. Honestly, it’s like listening to a Broadway show.
There’s an incredible variety of unique and wondrous characters in this collection and Michael Lesley creates a distinct voice for each personality. I’m sure narrating this story would be exhausting, yet he infuses every line with emotion, and maintains it for over 70 hours! His performance is awe-inspiring.
As much as I loved A Wish Upon the Stars, saying goodbye is doubly bittersweet. I’m going to miss the camaraderie of Sam’s band of misfits, the devoted guidance of his wizards, and the passion of true love (HaveHeart 4 life!). I’m also going to miss Michael Lesley crooning in my ear. If you haven’t started this incredible journey then get the show on the road with The Lightning-Struck Heart, and by all means... do it in audio!

Truly awful narration
I love this series of books from TJ Klune and strongly recommend them to anyone. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the audio versions. Book 1 was OK but since book 2 the narration has become increasingly annoying. The narrator sounds permanently bored and unable to read full sentences without pausing for inappropriately long pauses, sighs or huffs. I understand it's supposed to embody the main character but it misses the mark by a mile and ruins the entire experience.

Awful narration, so very disappointing.
T J Klune is one of the writers I buy automatically, hardly even reading the blurbs. I’ve read this series and all the others and loved every minute. On a whim I bought this audiobook and hated it almost at once. The phrasing is all wrong, the emotion is shallow and the characters I love are being ruined. I know this narrator has done the other books so this should have been way, way, way better than it is. I’m almost angry, I’m so disappointed ☹️

What a fabulous ending/epilogue to A Wish Upon the Stars - The audios have all been so amazing to listen to, the narrator Michael Lesley is now right up the top of my favourite narrators list.
So much to love about all of these characters - Tiggy will always be my favourite, but Sam kept me entertained with his antics & banter with EVERYONE that crossed his path........HaveHeart forever!!

Not expected for a fictional fantasy story
Not what I expected when I read the description of the Story. Narrator was not to my liking but that aside the story is quite vulgar and I can barely pay attention to it. Shame, it had potential.

Do yourself a favour and listen to this!
The Tales from Verania series are fantastically narrated by Michael Lesley. Being the last in the series, if you’ve gotten this far then don’t stop and keep listening.
Excellent story testing a raft of LGBT+ characters. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll miss Sam when the book finishes.
Thank you TJ for your amazing stories.

Amazing!
This is the final book in the Tales From Verania series and it was just amazing as the previous three! Michael Lesley really outdid himself with the narration in this book, as there are so many characters! And none of them sounded the same at all -- really easy to distinguish between them.
If you're looking for a hilarious queer book, pick up this series ASAP!

Best narrator to have ever narrated
This is a great book but I don't even care about that because Michael Lesley is so brilliantly awesome in his narration that I wouldn't have noticed if it was pure drivel (which it SO isn't, because TJ Klune doesn't write bad stuff, ever.)
Michael Lesley rocks so hard.
I've listened to a lot of Audibles and have liked some narrators very much. Michael Lesley is to the rest of narrators like Yoda is to Luke before he even knew about the Force was a thing.
I can't really call it narration. He acted this book out with perfection. Every character had such distinct and clear voice of their own, I didn't need any help telling them apart. The sound effects were cool too.
OMG, the song!!!
I laughed so hard, I was sobbing and in pain afterward. I had to rewind several times because I kept missing lyrics from laughing too loud. Actually, that happened several times during the book.
Is there some sort of award for best narrator, because he should get it immediately. Also, I am now going to buy everything he's ever narrated - I don't even care what it is.
TJ Klune, who?!
Michael Lesley 4ever!
I listened to this in one go. Yes - the whole 18 and half hours - including the ridiculous sound effect credits at the end. I can't imagine you actually need me to say that I recommend this.
PS I was kidding about TJ bit. I love him too. The ability to be both funny and heartbreaking in the same sentence requires pure genius and he does it with seeming effortlessness. This author-narrator pairing is Blessed By The Gods.
I capitalized that so now it's true.

Phenomenally entertaining
This is probably one of the most enjoyable series I have ever come across. Both the writing and narration constantly had me in stitches and the story arc is both gorgeous and escapist. I loved it.

Awesome isn't A strong enough word for this book. The narrator blew it out of the ball park and TJ had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. What an ending to a fabulous series
