Story
After 400 years of slavery in Egypt, the Israelites under Moses have escaped into the desert and are prepared to enter the land of Canaan that God had promised them. There's only one problem: It's crawling with giants. And these giants are the Seed of the Serpent, linked to the nefarious Nephilim giants before the Flood. They are called Anakim, Rephaim and others. Only two men, Joshua and Caleb, have the faith to face these Nephilim giants whose murderous idolatry defiles the land. But first, they must establish a bridgehead across the river Jordan to launch their invasion.

What does the Bible really say about the end times? There are so many Christians teaching outrageous speculation about end times Bible prophecy these days. It's enough to frustrate the serious Bible student. What if you found out most of it is simply mistaken? What if you found out that the ancient Jewish writers were using Old Testament imagery of the past, not a crystal ball gaze into our modern future?

Story
The Third Heaven: The Rise of Fallen Stars is book one of a three part series that tells of the fascinating story of the fall of Lucifer. Lucifer, God's perfect creation and who dwelt in his very presence, walked in the midst of the stones of fire. Yet rose up to betray the Lord and bring Heaven itself to civil war. Many tales have referenced this great angelic war but few have sought to explore the dynamic relationships between God and the angelic hosts. Why did a third of heaven seek to overthrow their creator?

too much graphic sexual content
Especially for a Christian writer. it goes way beyond necessary to convey the point of moral depravity, too the point that I became embarrassed to listen to it out loud if anyone else was around.

Darkness and evil
I realize that Abraham live during a time of Idol worshiping. But, in this novel there is a lot of barbaric, lewd, lasciviousness, and horrific things
that happened. These graphic descriptions were hard for me to listen to, so I skipped several chapters.

Very good story
I really enjoyed this book. The only thing I could do with out is the depravity. But I see what the author is trying to show, and he does it well enough with out being to vulgar.
I would by all means recommend all four books to anyone and I can't wait to start on book five.

Good but not as good as the first 3 books
This book is an excellent story. But unlike the first 3 books this one has excessive discussion of sex and rape. Sure those things happen, but sheesh. Hopefully the next one goes back to the cleaner read the first couple books were.

Warning: Sexually Explicit Content
Overall, Brian does a great job of weaving fact, fiction and imagination to bring to life the stories of the Bible. I give him five stars for that! And it was my hope, listening through the Nephilim series, to use his stories to be able to expose my nieces & nephew to the supernatural in the Bible. However, his description and story telling surrounding sexual situations are, what most would consider, pornographic. Yes, sex is a part of the stories of the Bible & of humanity. Yes, it is essential to the plot and story, however I strongly disagree with the explicitness used and believe the stories would be just as impactful without the explicit descriptions.

effortless blending of Scripture and history
love to hear stories. especially when they come from the Hebrew T'nach and blended with culture, myth and history but I just hear a compelling story with these details used as light and shade in a painting.
