Story
The saga continues.... In the opening chapter of volume two, Addy is sheriff of Leavenworth during “bloody Kansas” days. In chapter seven, he and Stogie operate a Pony Express station deep in the heart of lawless Nebraska territory. In chapter eight, after some unfortunate incidents, Addison heads east to finally deliver Pard’s gold to his wife in Cincinnati...when the Civil War breaks out. Story
He gave his word, refused to break a vow, and lost his one chance at true love. Now they've come for his land. Hap Wilkes is a man facing a painful past, an increasingly uncertain future, and now fights with everything left in a broken and failing body, to keep the one thing still left to him - his pride. The Irish Cowboy is a story of loss, secrets, redemption, and the always present human yearning for love and forgiveness, and marks the most personal novel to date from best-selling author D.W. Ulsterman.

Story
A number of years ago, I heard some stories about ranch and Western life I thought were among the funniest anecdotes I had ever heard. It started a quest. Over a 10-year span, I interviewed 150 cowboys, ranchers, and others, mostly in Texas and Nebraska. The result is Cowboys, Ranchers, and Assorted Characters: True Tales from the New West. It's the best of the best anecdotes from those encounters.

Story
It’s 1852. The wounds of the Mexican War are healing. Regis Royle, co-owner of a steamship fleet, has made it out alive, relatively unscarred and with enough profit and foolhardy ambition to envision a new life in south Texas. With the help of his crack-shot kid brother Shepley, his glad-handing riverboat partner Cormac Delany, and his old friend, raw-edged former Texas Ranger Jarvis “Bone” McGraw, Regis is laying claim to the prime jewel in a magnificent rolling prairie: the Santa Calina range teeming with wild mustangs, cattle, and eighteen-thousand acres of lush promise.

Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

Publisher's Summary
Addison True is an old school, rollicking western adventure ride - a sweeping, epic American saga. The historical novel is 1000 pages in print but split into two volumes for Audible. It follows the title character, a quintessential American hero, from Addy’s arrival in Gold Rush San Francisco in 1849, age 18, to guiding a winter-trapped wagon train down the back side of the Sierra, pioneering a stagecoach route through Apache territory, getting caught in the 1855 Plains war, serving as sheriff of Leavenworth during “bloody Kansas” days, Pony Express station keeper in Nebraska territory, to the Civil War. He is a scout-turned-spy for Grant at Vicksburg, and he and a slave escape north from Mississippi to Ohio. There is a concluding chapter back on the Plains.

best book in years
This has to be the best western book I have heard in years. As good or better than Loui LaMoor.
Non stop action. No foul language, heart felt romance without sex.
Great for young adult or old codger like myself.
