Good info

Probably a better read than audio. Very monotone. I had a hard time listening as my mind was drifting off to her voice. Would be better for hypnosis

Very Poor Narration

Very slow, monotone, sometimes obvious use of the wrong form of a word. I ordered the book because the narrator could not keep my attention. Same last name as the author.

Good Job Afrodite !!

What I appreciated more is that Afrodite gave me permission to leave my parent’s issues with them. Sometimes it is really hard and frustrating.

Sometimes is very hard to get out of it

Sometimes, as in my case, it can be very hard to understand certain "logics" hidden in our parents behavior. Why did they do the things they did to me? They did it on purpose or they did not understand what they were doing ? Well, this book opened my eyes and let me understand that it was not my fault to be as i am. I am, I have been, a completely normal child and I am a normal man now. Only now after reading this useful book I understood how manipulative their behavior has been. It has been healing since now ( i didn't finish listening the all book ) to know I am not the only one struggling to escape feeling guilty for some , always different reason. The writer tone is calm and liberating in the same time. Thank you Afrodite for your compassionate words and for the knowledge and tools now I have to defend myself from any kind of manipulative action, words and feelings. Thank you.

This book changed my life.

I finally found the courage to be honest with myself and my father about what life was like for me as a child, and how it impacted me as an adult. I can't tell you how empowering that feels. I know that I will face fallout from my dad and the rest of the family, but I also feel like I am free.

Gender roles ugh

This book is written for those whose grow up in a traditional family with a narcissist farther and a submissive/ abused mother. It’s analysis is through that framework. It’s exhausting to keep switching pronouns and people like in my case your family doesn’t reflect this. They talk a lot about the dynamic between parents and how that affects children. This is not relevant to my upbringing. Quite disappointed n feels like a waste of money.

Content not very useful in moving forward

Narration very poor. Monotone. Would not recommend. Content all about identifying Narcs not in how to move forward in life so much.
