I was never supposed to see him again. Him being the man wearing the perfectly tailored suit, who oozed an intoxicating mixture of wealth, rebellion, and sex appeal. One night. No strings. No names. Still riding the high from last night, I walk in to meet my new client, and he’s wearing that same dangerous smirk. Yes, I’m consulting for Callahan Sharpe. That Callahan Sharpe. Billionaire heir who abides by no rules, bucks convention, and is determined to complete one final project to honor his late father’s legacy. Luckily, and unluckily for me, I’m tasked to help.

Publisher's Summary
Book four of the After series - now newly revised and expanded. Anna Todd's After fanfiction racked up one billion reads online and captivated readers across the globe. Experience the Internet's most talked-about book for yourself!
Tessa and Hardin have defied all the odds, but will their fairy-tale ending be turned on its head? After Ever Happy... Life will never be the same.
It's never been all rainbows and sunshine for Tessa and Hardin, but each new challenge they've faced has only made their passionate bond stronger and stronger. But when a revelation about the past shakes Hardin's impenetrable façade to the core - and then Tessa suffers a tragedy - will they stick together again or be torn apart?
As the shocking truth about each of their families emerges, it's clear the two lovers are not so different from each other. Tessa is no longer the sweet, simple, good girl she was when she met Hardin - any more than he is the cruel, moody boy for whom she fell so hard. Tessa understands all the troubling emotions brewing beneath Hardin's exterior, and she knows she’s the only one who can calm him when he erupts. He needs her.
But the more layers of his past come to light, the darker he grows, and the harder he pushes Tessa - and everyone else in his life - away. Tessa's not sure if she really can save him - not without sacrificing herself. She refuses to go down without a fight. But who is she fighting for - Hardin or herself?

Loved every book!
I waited until I was done with all the books to write a review. Yes, Tessa pissed me off sometimes and I rolled my eyes so many times but I tried to remember how I was at 18 and in love and yup 🙄. I absolutely loved this book and I laughed and cried and wanted to throw my phone across the room at times because of some of the things Hardin did😂. But it was such a lovely story. Be patient with Hessa, it's so worth it!!! Oh and fu@$cking Trevor 😂😂😂

Best book so far
Would you listen to After Ever Happy again? Why?
Yes because it was a good book. I listened to After three times. Yes I would listen to all four books in the After series again.
What did you like best about this story?
There were many moments in this book. One thing I can say is this book pulled out all of my emotions. I cried so much, I laughed I got turned on and I got angry you name the emotion and I felt it.
What does Shane East and Elizabeth Louise bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved the way Shane East talk both narrators did a wonderful job. If I had read the book I would not have been able to do the British accent even in my head.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes as I said above I did both I cried and I laughed. Hardin said some of the funniest things, but Tessa made me laugh as well.
Any additional comments?
This is the second time I've given a review on the books that I listened to. The other time was on After 1,2 and 3. I talked about how much I enjoyed listening to those books and this fourth book did not disappoint. I know I will remember this series for a long time to come and will always be looking for something that could top it.

Now I'M Happy Ever After
This series has been a struggle for me...the idea/concept is a wicked and interesting study of damaged people and the cruelties they can effect on others. The story of Hardin and Tessa is FINALLY over with this book and I am so relieved. Actually, this and the first book were pretty decent...the second and third were mostly an exercise in frustration at just how much this story could be drug out with the characters repeated the same mistakes and discussions ad nauseum. I got so frustrated with the characters ALMOST getting a grip on themselves only to make really stupid decisions over and over and over. There is merit in some of Ms Todd's writing and it appears that she has grown some in this last book. Some of her phrasing and situations were genuinely funny and her attention to the struggles of addiction and recovery is admirable. The narrators took some getting used to but things did improve with the addition of Shane East. The only issue is that his Tessa was not nearly as good as Elizabeth Louise's Hardin. I am now happily over After.

Wow
This book brought the entire series together! I had so many mixed emotions after the 2nd and 3rd book because I loved the characters but certain things really bothered me about Hardin and Tessas relationship it was not a healthy relationship and I was not sure how the author was going to end the series without ruining it all, but I am so beyond happy how she completely twisted and turned the story into a lesson showing her readers that it’s not ok to be in an unhealthy relationship and that both Hardin and Tessa needed to grow separately before they can be happy together! It’s unlike any other love story out there and I am so happy with it. The only thing I wish for is that she would come out with little short stories to fill in the gaps at the end of the book, I would love to read a short story on their wedding and the their experience with their pregnancy with their two children!

Well! That sucked!!
The author dragged out the last three books with repetitive storylines repetitive behavior round and round only to rush through this last one. We the readers suffered through page after page of Hardin’s Insufferable toxic disrespectful selfish narcissistic behavior only to skim over his reform Is renewed self is new found decency... this book was a waste of my time! There’s a reason why Charlotte Brontë Jane Eyre and Rochester is so beloved over 100 years later the characters had Depth they had growth! Rochester was broody with a painful past but he was not consistently emotionally abusive to Jane! I understand not all relationships follow the same playbook but to drag this toxic story out for so many books only to act as if the author got tired of them tired of writing about these two! She rushed the ending! There was no good feeling at the end of this one, so many unanswered questions so many missed opportunities to have been a better ending to this twisted saga!

If you havent started this series then you missing out! I have anxiety about what to read next after 'before' because i dont think anything can live up to be as good as this series.

Incredible
I absolutely loved everything about this series. I couldn’t put it down once I’d started & have not been this invested in a book for a very very long time, if ever tbh. Elizabeth Louise was great throughout, Shane East was a brilliant Hardin - though his female voices weren’t the greatest, it was still very enjoyable. I’m so sad to have finished this story!

After ever happy
wow this story was much like my own but for one thing I changed he didn't..hes still an addicts and is in another relationship whiles I bring out 2 children up ..working on self love and healing myself ...this book made me face
he still has my soul and heart and accept I can't love another but I am ok with that
people will never understand the love the struggle and the pain these relationships hold
as I sit and listen to the happy ending and know I never have that with him is immensely painful
but as help me accept he will always have heart instead of lieing to myself he doesn't
walking away from this relationship was the hardest thing ive ever done only realising the damage in our children and myself as I began the 4 year journey of self healing beating my own eating disorder I realised my own damage I now saw his
I changed he didn't..this book has helped me see the thruth thank you 😊 I couldn't put it down and listened to it in 2 days I cried laughed and felt tessa and hardins pain and realised how many more people are involved in this intense relationship 💔 😢
thank-you for your amazing story which I will take with me o n my own journey xxx

Loved the series
Love the series but the ending is so rushed that it made the book lazy and not that great

I love this book series!!!
I loved this series from beginning to end, so many twists and turns and a great insight into 'toxic' relationships and how they can become something amazing as long as you're willing to put the work in! The only thing I didn't like was the male narrators female voice, but to be honest I did get used to it eventually.

After Ever Happy
I wasn’t a huge fan of the other books but this one was by far the best.

Love this series
I first watched the movie after then moved to the books and I’m so glad I did!
These books have been so well written and captivating that I struggled to pause the books when I had to do other things. The voices matched the characters so well and it was so well read.
I’m sad that Tessa and Hardin’s journey is over but I loved how the end gave us more information rather then just leaving it at Landon’s wedding.
Highly recommend these books!

Fantastic read, I loved this book so much it really showed how a broken person can change through unconditional love for each other. Can’t wait for the movie.

Lies, deceit, abuse... and unconditional love
I read the whole series. It was ...OK. I found the characters to be incredibly frustrating & hard to relate to or even like. Hardins behaviour is appalling and Tessa doesn't have a backbone and is a victim throughout. I really hope that the young adults who read these books and watch the films realise that this behaviour isn't OK and they deserve better.
The books were hard to get through (but I needed to know how it finished). Although they sort themselves out in the end, I couldn't help thinking about all the time wasted listening to these. Especially when I could have just watched the movies...

I just had to read the end
This book was full of emotion.. something that wasn’t really explored in the previous books. I finally got the characters and the full love story as a whole. Lots of tears and whilst the last 2 hours felt a little rushed I enjoyed it immensely.
When I started reading this book my chest just ached, it wasn’t of love or compassion, even sympathy for Hardin it was just infuriation. I was angry and to be honest I wanted to stop reading! I persevered! After reading the previous 3 books I must say I finally connected to the Hardin character. Recommended reading

A bit like tripe...
... some will love it, but it's a bit hard to swallow.
Ugh. So glad it's over. I've had a love-hate relationship with these books and the only reason I forced myself through them all is because I started book 1, and I ain't no quitter!
The first half is more of Hardin's tiresome self-loathing and Tessa's irritating half-wittery. The 2nd half feels like the author just realised she only had a four-book deal and was running out of word count. I mean, how do you drag out 1 year of story over 3 and 3/4 books and then go and jam over 20 years of time warping into the last 10 chapters of the 4th book? (smh).
Read it if you must, but wait til it's discounted, or free.

ending is rushed.
I am a little upset with the last hour of the book. I disliked that the first 3 books are all in the first year of their relationship and then the last hour of the 4th is so quickly rushed to years, mo the, more years and more years passed.

Non-remarkable
predictable and idealistic. However addictive in a guilty pleasure sort of way.
I feel the ending was a bit rushed, and the timeline jumps around a bit...
however if you've read the whole series, you may as well read this book
