Publisher's Summary

Six months ago, the world was plunged into chaos.

The ImDED2 virus had been a mere nuisance for a decade. World powers were at a loss for a cure, but managed to keep isolated outbreaks from becoming a global pandemic. Until New Year’s Day of the year 2020. Just after midnight, the immuno-degenerative and epidermal decomposition virus (strain 2) exploded worldwide, subsuming humanity in a tsunami of blood and terror.

Ryan Maxwell, and his family were fortunate enough to have the means to fully prepare for a possible doomsday and were able to ride out the initial chaotic months in relative comfort. Now, however, it’s time to search for family and friends whose status is unknown.

Family and friends were important before the end came, but how many will be still be alive after Z?

Great book 2

Excellent second book. It totally complements the first book. If you enjoyed book one the tale is just as funny and entertaining. Ryan and company have a perilous journey to rescue family. Looking forward to listening to the next installment.

Good second book to the series

Carrying on from book 1, Ryan and crew continue to survive living with zombies. Now it's time to gather the missing family members. Meet good guys and not so good guys on the trip to Texas to save Ryan's folks. Looking forward to book 3.

NOOOO!!!!

Finally part two comes out, and it was just too damn short! (not really, in terms of audiobooks, but the story is great and the narration is without equal.)

not I'm going to be checking weekly for a part 3.

At first I thought it would be stupid; zombies exist but have been kept in check for a decade with only a few isolated and quickly dealt with outbreak incidents. Protagonist wins record setting lottery jackpot, with time to prepare for the inevitable big outbreak that can't be contained, thus giving the author a "get out of jail free card" should he write himself into a corner as it can be explained away as the protagonist having seen a situation in a movie so he went ahead and prepared for it, and failing that the obstacles can be hand-waved away as "half a billion dollars in the hands of a doomsday prepper retired soldier" Tense situation with hundreds of zombies? no problem, we brought along 30,000 rounds of ammo each! We just found a hundred survivors? that's okay I bought enough food and water for decades, we're good.

but here's the thing... the author DOES exactly that... yet the characters are endearing enough, and the story is good enough, that I *didn't* cringe and start groaning like a zed. I so thoroughly enjoyed it that I didn't even mind the protagonist having everything he could ever need, because the author then did things to put the characters in situations where all the ammo, food and water in the world isn't going to help them.

I *devoured* part 2 and I'm waiting with baited breath for part 3.

Why isn’t there more now?

I loved everything about Part 2 of After Z , except one thing. The ending, I didn’t like that and only reason is because I don’t already have Part 3. Great story, amazing performance and over all top notch listen!!!

A fantastic adventure. Hurry with book 3 please!

I really enjoyed this book and the first book and I'm desperate to see what goes on in the third.
Along with the usual post-apocalyptic struggles and fights there was a good dose of humour.
I'm now regularly buying lottery tickets to build my bunker in the style of Ryan's though I have a few additions and improvements of my own!!!
A great listen for anyone interested in this genre, not as dark as some, though that's an interesting change, well worth adding to your collection.

Another winner of a book!

I loved this book as much as the first. Very well written. Full of gore, horror, suspense and laughter (at times)
Once again brilliant narration from Mr Crow. Would recommend this book. Even if you’ve not listened to the first one it relates back to to it so you know what’s what and where’s where!

Fantastic sequel!

Another amazing read, far exceeding my hopes and expectations, the Maxwell's and friends won my affection with their snark and one-liner's in the previous book, and their own style of bonding over zombie killing was hilarious, The dramatic trip to find family was well written with some great plot twists, and introduced some new characters, I can't wait for book 3, it can't be soon enough. I can't recomend this book highly enough and deserves the 5 stars across the board, the narration by Matthew Crow was amazing, memorable and deliciously toe curling as always! I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
