Story
A small town where pickup trucks rule, the farmer's market is bigger than the grocery store, and just about everyone goes to church on Sunday is the last place Henley Warren expects to find herself three months after her grandmother's death. But Gran left a list of things she needed Henley to do after she died, and fulfilling those wishes means spending a summer in the same place her mom fled from when she was only seventeen years old. Story
Summer had returned. The nightlife lit up the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama, with scantily clad sun-kissed bodies, live music, the smell of fresh cooked seafood. Taking it all in, he wondered if coming back had been the best thing. He wasn’t the same man who had driven out of town a year ago on the motorcycle he’d bought after his best friend’s wedding. From the messy blonde curls he’d let grow out, to the tattoos now covering his arms, part of his chest, and even the side of his neck, it all represented a part of his journey.

I used to pray that I'd find the strength to move on from him, from the pain that the end carried, from the emptiness in my chest, but ultimately move on from the loss of Creed Sullivan and the death of his sister, Cora. Deep down, I always knew my ache for all that I had lost was the reason I returned...but I hadn't expected to see him again - especially not like this.

Publisher's Summary
The third book in the New York Times best-selling Field Party series - a Southern soap opera with football, cute boys, and pickup trucks - from USA Today best-selling author Abbi Glines.
Two years ago Riley Young fled from Lawton, Alabama. After accusing the oldest Lawton son, Rhett, of rape, everyone called her a liar, and she had no option but to leave. Now she's back, but she's not at Lawton High finishing up her senior year. She's at home raising the little girl that no one believed was Rhett's.
Rhett is off at college living the life he was afraid he'd lose with Riley's accusation, so Riley agrees to move back to Lawton so she and her parents can take care of her grandmother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. But the town still hasn't forgotten their hate for her, and she hasn't forgotten the way they turned on her when she needed them most.
When town golden boy, Brady Higgens, finds Riley and her daughter, Bryony, stranded on the side of the road in a storm, he pulls over and gives them a ride. Not because he cares about Riley, of course, but because of the kid.
But after the simple car ride, he begins to question everything he thought he knew. Could Brady believe Riley and risk losing everything?

Love this one
Oh Brady! I really loved that they didn't make Brady the typical jerk we expected from his first introduction and I loved the development of the story and his relationship with his parents and well as the development of the romance with Riley along with her character of being a mom and daughter etc I truly loved the relationship with her parents! The narrators do a fantastic job with this one.

Third time is a charm
I’m listening to the field party series in sequential order and I find each book gets better. So far, this has been my favorite in the series. I really appreciated the character growth in the arc of Brady and Riley is hands down the best female lead we’ve met in the series. It’s an easy listen with some heavy subject matter that I felt was weaved into the story in a realistic and delicate way.

The 3rd installment is better than the 2nd, but...
This 3rd installment is better than the 2nd (Under the Lights), but nothing comes close to the initial novel, Until Friday Night. I guess the West - Maggie romance is just too damn hard to beat! However, we do find a deeper side of Brady in this book; i.e., he longs to be like his best friends and have the true strong connections to girls as they do.

same as the others
I like the first one then I thought the second one was kind of alike it and now the third one is the same thing. Same likable characters so that's why I finished it. But the storyline is the same and all of them the boy has to go through some terrible thing in his life he starts to rely on a girl to the point where he's completely dependent on her. Something goes wrong toward the end but is easily fixed and they end up together. Cute story but not too much variation.

Love this series!
I listened to this one on my road trip to meet my family for our annual trip to Branson on Memorial Day weekend. While it does tie in to the other books in the series, all of these do really work well as standalones. But because I had read/listened to the other two in the series, I knew Brady. And I have to say that I was sad he was so mean to Riley. But, like the good guy that Brady is, he soon figured out that maybe what he thought he knew was wrong, and that maybe Riley had been given a raw deal by their small town, even including his own rudeness to her. This story was a tear-jerker for reasons other than just Riley's dealing with what had happened to her that led to her being a single mom, as well as taking care of her grandmother with Alzheimer's. Brady is at a point where he has always known or thought that he knew that football would be his life. And sometimes things happen during your senior year that make you question what you thought you knew. That happens to Brady. Enough that I was crying for him. I hated how hard it hit him, but for someone who had grown up with basically the perfect life and family, I guess it makes sense he'd have that hard of a time with it. Then, after having listened to the 2nd book, I had a feeling that Gunner's thoughts on Riley might not be the same as everyone assumed they would be. Brady's cousin Maggie, was the perfect friend for Riley, and I kept waiting for that to happen, and when it did, I was thrilled. Another great book in this series, and I don't know if there will be more, but there were more guys on that football team I'd like to follow. Maybe into a college age/new adult series?
