Story
J. Scott Smart stars as "The Fat Man", Brad Runyon, the stout-but-stalwart investigator who was first conceived as an arch villain in Hammett's classic novel The Maltese Falcon. Charismatic and captivating, Runyon has a way with the ladies, in spite of his 237 pounds. Nick Charles, "The Thin Man", was played on radio by William Powell, Les Damon, and Les Tremayne. Cases seem to fall in to Nick's lap...often dropped there by his wife, Nora (played by Myrna Loy and Claudia Morgan).

Story
The Thin Man films are one of the most highly regarded and successful series of films from Hollywood's classic era. This book looks at the people who populated the films, including full chapter profiles of its stars, William Powell and Myrna Loy, whose chemistry together was a huge reason for the success of the films. As Nick and Nora Charles, they knocked the stereotypes of on-screen marriage out of the park and replaced the stiff and formal with fun and sexy.

Story
The dapper, mustache-twirling little Belgian with the egg-shaped head and curious mannerisms has solved some of the most puzzling crimes of the century - and, in his own humble opinion, is "probably the greatest detective in the world". In this complete collection of more than 50 stories, ranging from short tales to novellas, Poirot faces violent murders, poisonings, kidnappings, and thefts - all solved with his characteristic panache. Only Agatha Christie could have devised cases worthy of Hercule Poirot's skill and "little gray cells".

Publisher's Summary
The Lux Radio Theatre was one of radio's most popular series, attracting Hollywood's top stars and boasting a lavish budget. It began in 1934 by featuring dramas from Broadway, but there was not enough material to support the show. In an attempt to reverse the slipping ratings, the show was moved to Hollywood in 1936, where there was plenty of material and talent. In fact, filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille often served as the host.
