There’s a literary niche for all tastes including those who think that either Agatha Christie wasn’t funny enough or that PG Wodehouse didn’t feature anywhere near as many baffling murders as he could have. The Case of the Canterfell Codicil is a classic, cozy, locked-room mystery written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse.

Good and mysteries….Yum Yum
These light fun mysteries start as light entertainment and then hook you. Food and mysteries are my second favorite combination. The brilliant dog detective is pure fun!!! They are not as formulative as the quick turn out may lead you to believe but have true moments or originality. The mysteries are tricky enough to keep you coming back for more! Very clean and fun with mild violence these are the perfect rest for a busy mind! Playing then back and forth to work makes you look forward to the commute!!!

Great Fun !
I love this series of books and am listening as fast as they are released on Audible. I know I could actually read however the narration is great which adds a certain flair to it and the stories are interesting. I love the interaction between Albert and Rex and how it grows over the series. As someone that has had german shepherds for a long time I really laugh at what Rex does. (and in some ways can relate) I can't wait untill they are all on Audible. I'll have to try some of the other books Steve Higgs writes.

Well Worth A Listen
I thoroughly enjoyed these books. I'd steered clear of purchasing them for a long time thinking that the characters and storylines were not up my street. However, I'm a huge fan of the Blue Moon investigation stories so I thought I would give it a try and I am so glad I did. I just loved Albert and Rex's culinary journey around the country and there sleuthing side line. Every story was a joy to listen too and very informative as I now know what a Bedfordshire Clanger is and the difference between a Bakewell Pudding and Bakewell Tart.
I liked book 4 the best primarily because the interaction between Rex and the sausage dog which was absolutely hilarious ! ! !
I will definitely be purchasing the remaining books in the series.

A lovely bookset!
This set kept me happily listening for 2 weeks! I love the detective duo of Albert Smith and his canine sleuth, Rex. Together they explore England enjoying the delicious food of the various places they visit and stumble upon crimes that need solving in the process. Made me so hungry whilst listening that I'd have to have a snack with me every single time! Each story has a bit of humour, drama and sleuthing galore! Loved every minute of it! The narrator brings each character to life. His rendering of Rex and his thoughts was wonderful!

This was such a fun detective book. Adore the role of Rex Harrison the dog and seeing the various situations from his point of view as well as Albert’s.
