More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Publisher's Summary
The books that inspired the SyFy series Hunters...
A young wife disappears in the night, never to be seen again. There is no evidence of kidnapping - in fact, everything indicates that she left on purpose. Her husband, a brilliant police detective, cannot believe this - but he also can't find her.
Flynn Carroll’s lost love becomes his obsession. He begins amassing a file of similar cases nationwide. His conclusion is unavoidable: somebody is taking people and making it look like they walked out on their own. As Flynn’s case files grow, his work comes to the attention of Special Agent Diana Glass, a member of the most secret police unit on the planet. This police force seeks the most brilliant and lethal criminals who have ever walked free - thieves and murderers from another world.
Without fully understanding what Glass and her team are doing, Flynn steps into a hidden world of extraordinary challenge and lethal danger. The job is the most difficult police assignment ever known to man, but the idea is the same - find the bad guys. Stop them.

Don't Know What To Think
Would you try another book from Whitley Strieber and/or Christian Rummel?
Probably not Strieber. The characters were so uneven the story is hard to follow. While characters being predictable isn't always a good thing, there must be story driven reasons for their actions. Events happen without narration, keeping the reader questioning how the story progresses. Think of this book as a very bad mix of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The X-Files, and somehow The Island of Doctor Moreau. It starts off with a good premise but quickly turns into a poorly rendered plot with holes so large you could fill an entire novel trying to explain them away.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not sure.
Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Rummel is good at what he does. This book is on par with his others.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The best thing I can say is it had potential.
Any additional comments?
No.

Really Worth The Time And Money
Would you listen to Alien Hunter again? Why?
I think a second read would allow a different perspective on events that I enjoyed on the first listen.
What other book might you compare Alien Hunter to and why?
I wouldn't compare it to another book. This style of fiction hasn't really been my thing but I really enjoyed this and intend to keep listening to Mr. Strieber's work, this series in particular to start.
Which scene was your favorite?
Snow Mountain and Flynn in the final chapters, and any scene where Mack says anything at all.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!
Any additional comments?
Christian Rummel is professional and talented narrator. His delivery definitely added to my enjoyment of this story.

Which character – as performed by Christian Rummel – was your favorite?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Christian Rummel was amazing as usual. I gave up after about 3 hours. This book is just bad. If you want to read some great stuff from Stieber, read Communion, Transformation and Next. 3 amazing books. This book was just garbage. Drawn out nonsense that went nowhere.

Fabulous narration
I enjoyed this audio book, but it was the narration that kept me listening. Parts of the book really irked me, and if I'd been reading, I likely would have closed the book and never picked it up again. It was the narrator who kept me listening though. He provided such a smooth delivery, I just wanted to keep listening. Other than the few things the characters did that irked me, I did enjoy the story. It is an intriguing alien story. If Christian Rummel narrates, I may listen to another by this author.
