For Delilah, the Mossad's top seductress, the parameters of the assignment were routine. The contractor: MI6. The objective: infiltrate a terror network, this one operating out of London. The stakes: a series of poison gas attacks on civilian population centers. There's just one wrinkle. The target is a woman - as smart, beautiful, and committed as Delilah herself. And for a cynical operative thrust suddenly out of her element, the twists and turns of the spy game are nowhere near as dangerous as the secrets and desires of the human heart.

Publisher's Summary
A search for a pair of serial rapists leads Livia Lone down the darkest and most dangerous trail of her life in a pulse-pounding thriller by New York Times bestselling author Barry Eisler.
Ten years ago, the daughter of Homeland Security Investigations agent B. D. Little vanished into thin air. So did seven other girls - the crimes all bearing the same signature characteristics.
Now the disappearances have begun again. And Agent Little’s efforts to investigate are being blocked by forces far above his pay grade. Desperate, he turns to Seattle sex-crimes detective Livia Lone, the most obsessive hunter of predators Little knows.
Livia will need that obsessiveness, and a lot more. Because the two men Little is pursuing are fearsome. Both Special Forces veterans with a dozen tours in Iraq between them. Both sadists and serial rapists. And one, the congressman scion of the vice president of the United States - a man who will use all his power to protect his son’s secrets and further his own ambitions.
The conspirators have all the assets and all the angles. And every reason to believe they’ll evade justice, as they always have before.
They don’t understand that for Livia Lone, justice is only a guideline. Revenge is the rule.
Critic Reviews
"Barry Eisler delivers again as both author and narrator in the third Livia Lone thriller. Eisler's portrayal of Livia is compelling - gritty but feminine, ruthless but driven by a sense of justice.... As usual, Eisler dishes up his own fast-paced narrative with intense clarity." More than EXCELLENT!
Barry Eisler has got to be one of my favorite authors. I also love that he narrates his own books and you don’t have to count on someone else’s interpretations. It helps that he has a pleasant voice as well.
The Livia Lone series all (so far) deal with human trafficking, sexual abuse, rape and any other thing you can think of that pertains to the helpless being taken advantage of by the powerful. She is driven to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
This is book three. I would suggest listening to this series in order (it’s worth your time) but each book can be read as a stand alone.
Livia’s character is well fleshed out. She’s a woman with intense flaws and strengths creating so much turmoil within.
The publisher’s summary gives you so much of the storyline it’s hard to say more. Her adversary is the Vice President. He’s trying to protect his son who along with a friend have been abducting, sexually abusing and murdering women and teenage girls for years.
This book is tense, fast paced and full of action. It also has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
If you have kindle unlimited this book is FREE to borrow with the kindle edition.

Best in the series
Extremely entertaining book. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, but was totally blown away with the third. It’s unusual in a series that the books improve in quality, but Barry Eisner has found the recipe.
Kudos to the author for a great book and I highly recommend the entire series.
As a side note, as the book ends, I actually had tears in my eyes. Emotional and satisfying - read it, you will not be sorry.

Consistent Quality
If you enjoyed the other Liva books, you’ll definitely enjoy this one.
In this book, we get the same fast-paced action, Livia kicking butt, Livia taking on the big guys and finding a way to survive insurmountable odds, and insight into the capabilities of our three-letter govt agencies. It’s all there, and it’s just as good as it has always been with Eisler’s material.
Eisler continues to impress me with his ability to narrate as well as the best of them. This guy has done just about everything and been successful at it. I kinda hate people like that, haha
The one negative - and maybe I’m more sensitive to it than I was in the other books - is the child abuse, rape, and lewd subject matter. Eisler doesn’t just gloss over the rape. He gives details and gives POV on the thoughts and feelings of the rapist. That was hard to listen to, and I skipped forward several times. On the other hand, I believe Eisler has personal experience fighting against these issues, and there really is no pleasant way to describe it. It’s also a good to hear the gritty truth and get a reminder that the world can be a dangerous friggin place. And it’s nice to know there are tough folks out there stamping out the evil.
I’m gonna SPOILER ALERT one thing, only because I think people should have a heads up. In this book, Eisler describes (thankfully w/out much detail) the murder of a toddler-aged child. It was f—ed up. I wish I hadn’t heard it.

Do not mess with Livia Lone!
Seattle cop Livia Lone knows first hand the sexual exploitation of some girls and women. This time her opponent is the US VP and his congressman son. As usual with author Barry Eisler the novel is excellent and his narration is outstanding.
Eisler was probably the first big name author of the mystery/thriller genre to adopt self publishing. As a result his ebook and audio novels are free to borrow with Kindle Unlimited and available to buy for much less than the cost of a credit without Kindle Unlimited.

Another great Livia Lone story!
I've been a big Barry Eisler fan for years. His John Rain is one of my favorite main characters in contemporary thrillers. But Livia Lone has been steadily gaining on ol' John Rain in my list of favorites. I won't re-hash her origin story, as that heavy tale is told in her earlier books (and I've already written about it in my reviews of them), but I'll reiterate that she is one of the most complex, strong-yet-vulnerable characters I've read. And here we find her involved in another situation Eisler has put her into for stress testing. This is another taut, skillfully woven Barry Eisler thriller. By the way Barry Eisler once again does an awesome job with the narration. He is a skilled storyteller and does a great job in performing his stories.

Livia Lone Tracks The Bad Guys—Saves The Girls
Barry Eisler is a terrific author. His writing is gritty and puts the reader in the story right beside Livia Lone. She is again having trouble with her boss at Seattle PD. Livia is a sex crime detective and she always goes beyond the call. This time she almost gets killed by shooters she doesn't recognize. Who are those guys hiding behind the cars when she and Little go to save one of the Congressman's victims from his high school days? Boomer and Snake are truly evil. Can Livia and Little find them in time? Can they stop their rape and killing game? I have read every book by Eisler, both e-books and audible. He is the narrator in all of his books and he is a terrific narrator. To understand the intricacies of Livia Lone, you must start with the first book. If you have time, you really should read the entire series about John Rain. He is an assassin and is always after the bad guys. A whole world is waiting for you to immerse yourself in it.

Bring back John Rain
Barry Eisler really can't write a bad book. It's just a shame Livia Lone is so tiresomely one dimensional and serious. John Rain was never a barrel of laughs but he at least seemed human. In this one though, even a brief showing from Dox doesn't lighten things up. It's a good book, but I greatly miss the old days of the more interesting Rain.

He’s back!! Barry that is ;)
I have been anxiously waiting for the book and it did not disappoint. I’d have liked more Dox (he’s my favourite), but understand the dynamic needed here. Livia is always a strong lead, and I don’t generally like female leads in these kind of novels, but you can’t help but like her!
Barry’s narration is always top notch! I love listening to him.
Only disappointment here is that I listened to it in two days and now have to wait for a new novel from Barry!! Argh lol.
