Publisher's Summary

USA Today best-selling author Claudia Burgoa brings listeners a delightful new romantic comedy that’s equal parts hilarious and sexy about friendship, and learning how to fall in love!

Olympic medalist and X-game sensation Alex Spearman thinks he’s perfect.
He’s not. I know his kind.
Rich, famous, and emotionally unavailable.
Well.... He’s perfect enough to hook up with on the weekend of his sister’s wedding.
His sister is my best friend. This is a disaster in the making.
Did I mention he’s also hot, sexy and funny?
How can I resist?

After a steamy weekend, I agree. We have chemistry.
But it just won’t work out in the long run.
He’s just a fond memory. That is...until he moves next door.
When I’m in need, the almost perfect man offers to help.
On a “friends-only” basis.
“Just friends,” he said. Yeah, right.
Suddenly, Alex is getting too close for comfort.
Things are becoming heated...becoming too real for me.
Is this the real deal, or am I another medal to him?

a complex relationship

Alex and Hannah make for a complex relationship, whether Hannah wants to call it that or not. It's a bit of a love/hate thing, and when the snark flies, it really soars. This one is a RomCom, but it's also more than that. There's plenty of emotion mixed in with the laughs. Both Alex and Hannah are a bit broken, and they both need to learn to trust, particularly Hannah. This couple has great chemistry, even when they hate each other, and the secondary characters add some extra fun to the story, including a couple of scene-stealers here and there. I love Hannah's dad, and Draco the cat is a hoot. The story is fast-paced, engaging, and a wonderful combination of sweet, sexy, and emotional romance.
That's what I had to say when I read the book. Now, combine all that emotion, snark, and humor with the narration of Joe Arden and CJ Bloom. That's a hard-to-beat combination. Joe Arden captures Alex perfectly, and CJ Bloom does the same with Hannah. Whether these two are verbally sparring or falling all over each other, it's all there in the voices. And I can't even tell you how many times I chuckled, snickered, or flat out laughed while listening. So, if you're looking for a completely engaging listen, Almost Perfect is the way to go.

Dragged on and on about how blind Hannah is

Spoiler alert!

This book had so much promise; started out really well but then it dragged on and on. Past the halfway point, it was chapter after chapter of how Hannah was oblivious of what Alex was doing. Her wondering if he had changed or not just kept happening over and over again. It didn’t make sense because she’s characterized as a smart and “enlightened” after her year of travel. It was a struggle to even finish past chapter 40.

Loved ❤❤❤

Loved listening to this. The narrators brought the story to life. Claudia has done it yet again. Her stories suck me in from the beginning and I always hate for the last page to come. This story is a frenemies to lovers. I recommend this story it has a easy flow of words. Was never difficult to understand. Characters were likable and relatable. Highly recommended to listen to the story.

Alex and Hannah have all the sparks

Wow, this listen just blew me away. I loved how feisty Hannah is, and how confident Alex is. They were positively combustible in this enemies-to-lovers romance.

Claudia Burgoa wrote an amazing romance that is fully of witty banter, chemistry and a soul-deep connection. Alex has always been drawn to his sister's best friend, Hannah, but Hannah has no interest in his antics. But once they truly get to know each other, she realizes that all of her preconceived notions of Alex may not be correct. Alex works HARD to earn Hannah's friendship and her trust. This slow burn is so satisfying!

Joe Arden and CJ Bloom are two of the best narrators in the romance industry. They make you feel the emotions, whether it's love, frustration, sadness, happiness. They really brought these characters to life.

Secret feelings lead to more. I enjoyed this story

Another tale from the Spearman clan. Hannah and Alex had a history but had gone their separate ways. Now they must deal with their feelings when they are brought together again. Hannah was determined to keep her best friend's brother at arms' length without much luck. She was intelligent, caring, and loyal. Alex was a bit broken but came to realize Hannah was a balm for his soul. The heat between them was definitely scorching, and I enjoyed their interactions, humorous, touching, and serious. I look forward to the next in the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Joe Arden and CJ Bloom. Their characterizations of all the characters made the story that much more worth the listen.

I was gifted the audiobook, and this is my unsolicited review.

Hannah and Alex!

Hannah has a past that she would like to forget but the after-effects still touch her life and her relationships as she trusts very few people and allows even fewer close enough to breach the walls she has built around her heart. Her best friend June is part of her inner circle and from her she meets her brother Alex who incites feelings from elation to despair and everything in between.

Alex is a former athlete who saw his promising career come to a premature end and he soon realized which people were in his life for who he is, and which people truly cared about him. He still struggles with the perception that those around him have of him and yearns to be seen for the man he truly is.

Hannah and Alex share a casual physical relationship, but misunderstandings cause a wedge that neither seems able to bridge. When Hannah decides to take a respite from her life and determine what and who she needs to be happy Alex acknowledges what she means to him. He is determined to convince her that she is perfect just the way she is and that if she trusts him with her heart, he will protect it with his life. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they brought out all the emotion that both characters were feeling.
