Publisher's Summary

Amazon’s Alexa system is one of the most exciting pieces of technology released in the last several years. Being able to tell an electronic speaker like the Echo to play music or engage in conversation is both a great deal of delightful fun and a testament to how far voice-recognition technology has advanced as well as the influence wireless information technology has had on our everyday lives. Even better, Alexa can synchronize the Echo to many things inside and outside the household - hence, you can order food via the internet just by saying a few words to it, or you can even turn the lights on and off by speaking to the Echo instead of heading for a switch.

This audiobook contains:

  • A detailed guide to first setting up your Echo and getting it connected to your Wi-Fi network
  • Explanations of how to change your Echo’s speaker circuit board
  • Advice on making sure your Echo can connect to the internet and solving problems with weak signals or problematic passwords
  • Walk-throughs on using many different internet sites with Alexa’s voice
  • Fun games and secret commands you might not know Alexa recognizes
  • The best ways to train Alexa’s voice-recognition protocols and tips on making sure your Echo won’t lose your voice among the “echoes” in your home
  • Descriptions of the various smart devices you can use with Alexa and troubleshooting guides for problems you may encounter getting them to work with the app
  • An introduction to the Echo Dot, its controls, and its uses
  • Tips on protecting your privacy
  • How to connect to the internet when you are experiencing connectivity problems
  • Tips on helping Alexa to better understand what you are saying
  • What to do when the Echo Dot won’t respond
  • How to update your device’s software
  • A walk-through on blocking or removing unwanted contacts
  • Answers to the most frequently asked Echo Dot questions
  • And more

One of the best manuals

One of the best manuals on Alexa. After reading this guide I finally see what all the hype is about and how to get the most use out of Alexa. This step-by-step manual is jammed back with useful information. The author is very honest with his thoughts as well and gives great tips that anyone can use. I liked how the book broke everything down in easy to understand terms whether you’ve had Alexa for a while or just getting her out of the box. It’s like getting the inside scoop on Alexa and Amazon’s brains! I enjoyed learning more about what to expect out of this device and the terms that may be used. Kudos to the author for also adding images to show what he is talking about and how things should look. Some people are visual learners so this really helps. In addition, I think that if you’re new to using Alexa this is a great starting point for you. If you use Alexa already then this is still good to use because it will tell you some tricks you don’t get in the basic manual.

Comprehensive

After listening to Amazon Alexa and Echo Dot by Mark Howard's audiobook, I finally see what all the hype is about and how to get the most use out of Alexa. Looks comprehensive as of this moment and I like what I see. If not in this audiobook, an advanced Alexa course would be super where we can making sure our Echo can connect to the internet and solving problems with weak signals or problematic passwords, and also getting some solutions on home automation. This capability is part of the next generation Echo devices such as the Show and the Spot. Thank you! Super job so far.

Happy to have it

I was so happy to have this guide. Through it, I have learned many things I didn't know before. I have learned the tips and tricks on how to use Amazon Alexa Devices.

With it, I was able to learn both basic and intermediate tasks involving Alexa products- the echo, in particular. It gave me the overview of how to start with the Echo right out of the box, tips on making the Echo and the Alexa app itself can connect to the internet reliably, some more quick solutions to common Wi-Fi issues, connecting other smart devices to the Alexa app, and more.

If you're looking for a source on how to use your new Amazon Alexa this book is it. I highly recommend buying this user guide because the author really does share all of his knowledge on this device. The "directions" that come with your new device look like a brief compared to this. Remember, Amazon is constantly tweaking, changing, and updating the capabilities of their products, so be the first to know by having this book.

Overall, I have enjoyed this guidebook so much. It was a great help indeed.

Important info learned

This information is amazingly real and important to me. This guide is depicted in clear vernacular and direct. All tips and traps are uncommonly valuable and supportive. In a general sense, buy this guide if you feel like there are a couple of things that the writers of the official customer's guide neglect to cover and you would incline toward not to glance through the Internet each time you have to add another capacity to your Alexa to help with your consistent plan.

Absolutely amazing

The audiobook is absolutely amazing. At first, I thought that he was going too fast and maybe got some things wrong, and I had to go over some parts of the audio several times before I understood what it was that I was doing wrong. I have come to realize that his teaching technique is very effective in part because it forces the learner to slowly learn the amazon Alexa Echo service fundamentals.

Explained clearly

This is an amazing audiobook. Before getting this course I took the 5 minute tutorial from Amazon so this course made things even simpler. The instructor is mindful and has explained everything precisely. So far I'm impressed with the layout. I'm anxious to get into the weeds of the courses and see how I come out on the other side. Nice introduction and hope all are explained clearly to beginners.

My device doesn't have video but after reading the book, I may purchase one with video capabilities. I have signed up for update notifications so that I can get the most out of my Alexa. This guide was easy to follow and made using Alexa easy. Thank you!

It was a great help indeed

Superb! One of the most popular devices to use today is Alexa. However, sometimes this helpful tool can be a bit confusing to use at first. Thanks to this book though, you’ll be walked step-by-step as to how to properly use Alexa as well as learn some interesting tricks you can try with it. Author- Mark Howard created a huge user manual guide that contains tips and tricks you can use. You’ll learn how to use certain Alexa apps, how to connect to Amazon video, and how to use voice control to activate music verbally. At 2 hrs and 33 mins, this book isn’t very long, so it’s perfect for those who don’t want something too time-consuming to read. In addition to this, Mark writes with a fun style while also giving helpful information so you won’t get lost and confused with technical terms like with some similar books. If you’re interested in learning more about your Alexa device, you’ll definitely want to pick this book up.

The data is extremely genuine

The data is extremely genuine and valuable to me. This guide is portrayed in straightforward dialect and straightforward. All tips and traps are exceptionally useful and helpful. Fundamentally, purchase this guide in the event that you feel like there are a few things that the essayists of the official client's guide fail to cover and you would prefer not to look through the Internet each time you need to add another ability to your Alexa to assist with your everyday schedule.

Extremely helpful

This was an Extremely helpful audiobook for me starting out as a beginner in building apps for Alexa. I gained a thorough insight into building the apps, got to see real-life projects up and running, and walked away with extreme value for money. I would definitely recommend this course to other students. Wonderful job.
