Publisher's Summary

Read by the author.

The American Dream isn’t a thing of the past, but a miracle of the present.

Now more than ever it’s easy to focus on the divisions that plague our nation. It may seem as if our best days are behind us, but bestselling author and senator Tim Scott believes we have yet to realize the fullness of our identity. We are in the midst of a story that’s still unfolding. And beautiful opportunities await.

In this powerful memoir, Scott recounts formative events of his life alongside the inspiring stories of other Americans who have risen above hardship and embodied the values that make our nation great. Together these personal and inspirational accounts call listeners to embrace

  • the mountaintops as well as the valleys on the journey to a more perfect union;
  • a path marked by optimism, hope, and resolve; and
  • a future characterized by endurance, unity, and strength.

Both a clear-eyed reckoning with our nation’s failures and an ode to its accomplishments, America, a Redemption Story issues a clarion call for all of us to rise courageously to the greatness within our reach.

Great book

So, after listening to this inspirational memoir, I was in the coffee shop with a senior in High School and a recent college grad waiting on me. I talked about hope and how things will always get better in life. They commented on how nice it was to hear something positive!
I liked how his mother and his right hand gal spoke with their roles in the book. And I liked hearing Senator Tim speak instead of some actor. Hearing each voice was amazing! Tim Scott for President!

Inspiring, captivating, and boldly human

The raw and amazing story of Tim Scott, and by extension, of America - the only country where his redemption story can exist.

Expecting a political book about how the Left is ruining everything? Or how the Republicans will fix it all? Spoiler: this book is NEITHER of those. It focuses on real, human stories about hope, redemption, and overcoming suffering. Things will get better; Tim Scott is living proof of that. America will get better. Just look at her past and progress and believe in the good of the Americans around you.

Evan's Review

Wonderful book with a great success story. Tim Scott the only African American Senator from South Carolina which is a Republican Conservative is one of American successful political leaders that could be a Presidentalt candidate. Being a white male I couldn't put myself in Senator Scott shoes of what he had to do achieve his accomplishments. Read this book.
