Struggled with this one!

As usual Kevin Pierce is amazing! The story, which could have actually been very interesting, was lacking so much detail. The characters were clingy needy and dove in and out of relationships without any build up to it. Im talking every single character gave me pause to thing WTF. It was almost almost creepy. I struggled a little by the end of book 1, that ended abruptly and I got thrown into book 2 and continued hoping it would get better. It was way worse, I really wanted to know how it would turn out but decided I was calling it quits after book 2 because I was constantly shaking my head saying WTF way too much lol

Disregard bad reviews.

Idk why this has so many negative reviews tells a good story nothing overly crazy, and has a good story line. I listen to a lot of post apocalyptic books do to working long hours, this is far from bad when compared to some of the other available options.

One Of The Absolute Best

Kevin Pierce does his usual stellar job of narrating this 4 book box set. This is a story of Islamic terrorism and North Korean EMP blasts in the US. It's the forging of a hero from a car mechanic named Joe, who never prepped, but did know how to hunt, fish and trap game. It's the story of his fiesty prepper Grandma who has left him land and letters to guide him. How Joe meets his wife, gains a family and Community as he learns how to live in the new version of his country, now without modern conveniences. The women in his life are truly warriors. Well rounded character development and Prepper tips. Excellent Read!! Now on to "Cole's Saga!"

Appalling

A mediocre book made excruciating by the narrator. Be worse and spend your credit on something else.

Don't waste your credit

If Nora Roberts wrote an Apocalypse novel..... Author is extremely repetitive and his attempts at humor and romance are absolutely horrible. Get to the title and Apocalypse we don't need to hear every other paragraph that every woman left alive after the SHTF wants Joe. And every single man in Oregon is a pedo rapist. The only bright light is the narrators get a great job. Truly think author was just trying to fill pages to make it a box set. How many times can you write the same dialog over and over. Don't waste a credit or your money on this, seriously he is a frustrated perverted wanna be romance writer hiding up title of Apocalypse.

Was this written by a 12 year old virgin?

This reads like a fan fiction written by a horny 12 year old who has never even spoken to a woman before. Just painful to listen to. Couldn't make it even half way through the first book. The dialog is stilted at best and listening to the narrator give his most bland and bored "Allahu akbar" ever every other chapter was just laughable. Pass.

Sophomoric politically conservative

It basically blames all the ills of a post apocalyptic horror on liberals and of course the only answer is a conservative butchery off every thing democratic

Written by a 10 year old

The most unrealistic post apocalyptic book I’ve ever read. Had to return. Simplistic writing, extremely unbelievable characters. A teenage girl who looks like a twin to her twenty something mom starts jumping into the arms of a guy who they just met? Please don’t waste your time.

Strange

This seems like it was written by a 70 year old man hired by the Hallmark channel to put together a post apocalyptic harem story. The main character doesn’t have any skills or abilities reads some books and instantly becomes an expert.

I wouldn’t consider this to be worth the price if it were free.

Repative and single minded

This book is all about sex and rape. In atleast every chapter someone is being raped or is accusing someone of rape. All the villains are rapist or child molestors and the only good person has 3 different girlfriends in the first 3 chapters.

Now I'm all up for a good story with a balance of ramoace or sex scenes, sadly the author is either sick minded or has been a victim as this is just to much. After what must the 300th use of the word rape I have now deleted the book.

A refreshing storyline (Books 1-4)

Have read a lot of these types of stories but I must admit I really enjoyed this one. The story is about normal people and how they react to the world going to sh*t. I can relate to the characters and this made it easier to get involved in the story.

The characters are portrayed as lower to middle class. It was refreshing to see how they reacted when there were no bathrooms. Giggled when they found toilet paper. The situation they found theirselves in and how they react to it was interesting.

The narrators did a fantastic job with all the accents. Got to admit my favorite was Grandma. She is a real firecracker.

Well worth the read. 5*****

Oh dear, a manifesto for American Republicans

I guess this book is aimed at the sort of folk who are probably banged up in prison after last year's attack on the American Capitol Building. It has all the villains of the American right - FEMA (they're really slave traders who hold slave auctions), the liberals who wanted gun control, the management class, hell they're elitists who'd sell the good ole rednecks out for thirteen pieces of silver.

Joking aside this is an interesting insight into the survivalist movement, their motives, fears, and expectations. To live in a constant state of hypervigilance like this cannot do their health any good at all what with the deleterious effect it must have on their amygdalas squeezing out all that testerone.
