Cole’s Saga is a stand-alone spin-off series, based on my American Apocalypse series. Cole’s Saga continues the story about Cole Biggs, and how he and his friends survive the apocalypse. North Korea, China, and Iran conspired against the world and used EMP bombs to destroy our grid. This new series starts in the Kentucky / Tennessee part of the US. The grid is down, and people panic as planes fall from the sky and cars stall. The US Government collapses and rogue government groups rise to power. Jack Harp is Cole’s best friend’s father.

A nuclear EMP attack would shove the USA back 150 years. Death, chaos, and lawlessness would prevail.... Zack Johnson is no hero, but he does have some valuable prepper skills to help him survive. Lauren Russell often wondered why her father had been so adamant about teaching her skills that most other fathers wouldn't even consider teaching their daughters. Ever since she was little, she had been taught how to live and survive outdoors, and how to use firearms to protect herself and those around her. Some of the training had been a bit extreme. Publisher's Summary
The North Koreans launch a surprise Nuclear EMP attack on the USA. Our hero, Joe doesn't care about politics or what happened, he just knows his world went to Hell. Planes fell out of the sky, people went nuts looting and killing as he scrambled to hide from all of the craziness.
Joe had a cabin and land in Southern Oregon when TSHTF and retreated to the cabin to survive the massive die-off that was always predicted for an apocalypse. The weeks before the Grid went down weren't much better for Joe because his best friend, his fiancé, and his beloved Grandma all died during the weeks leading up to lights out.
Joe was a young auto mechanic whose only stress in life was from a domineering girlfriend, and now he has to learn how to survive in a post-apocalyptic world without military or survival training.
To make matters worse, others look to him for support and guidance. Listen to American Survivor to find out how a regular guy survives in a post-apocalyptic world.

Great 1st Book to a Series with Great Potential
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of American Survivor, American Apocalypse, Book I: by AJ Newman and narrated by Kevin Pierce. First off, you need to understand that this is my favorite genre for audiobooks and narrated by my favorite narrator. This was an excellent start to what should be a great series. The character development was very good and the storyline is very believable. I think the people behaved and acted very much like what I would expect in a real life situation. This is one of those books where I did not want to stop listening. So every moment I could I had my earbud in and the story turned on. This has the potential to become an awesome series and one of my top ten. As usual the narrator did a superlative job with reading this story. Kevin always makes the story come alive in my mind and I can visualize the story as it unfolds. Keep up the great work and keep them coming.

2.5 out of 5 without Kevin Pierce.
This book was OK but short. I read and listen to these type of stories a lot. Kevin Pierce and R.C. Bray are the poster voice's of this type of story and they make any average book better. With that being said I do not think I could read this one but with Pierce narration is was not bad.
The main Character is likable but flip flops from an alpha to a beta male often in the story. the other characters are just around. The grandma diary in the form of letter's was a good idea. The story is nothing new and the writing style is pretty basic and feels like a realistic comic book IMHO. The book is short and appears abrupt and unfinished.
I guess is I did not feel any depth or investment and the wheels in my head where not turning forcing me to stay up late listening. No emotions of any kind kicked in at any point of the book.
I will try something else next time but if I do not find anything I will pick up the next issue of this story.

Hit the "back" button now
I consume every piece of prepper fiction I come across and this is by far the worst book I have heard. The story is shallow, characters make you wish for their death and descriptions get repetative very fast. The main character is a hodgepodge of cliches- overweight, uneducated incel simpleton who becomes a TEOTWAKI warrior overnight and has women fighting for his attention. This book is so bad, it reads as a PARODY on prepper fiction, now that I think about it. Skip this one, save yourself a cringe.

A realistic dystopian novel
It was really nice to find a book featuring an average person, well supposedly, with a head start from his prepper grandmother and years of experience hunting and trapping it feels like he's quite well prepared.
Joe turned out to go a genuinely likeable guy although I was a bit disappointed that he didn't end up going after the semi-girlfriend that was abducted. He helped so many people during the story, and he really didn't have to, in fact most people wouldn't so this seemed out of character.
The story ends up showing both the best and worst of humanity, including the cliffhanger at the end.
The narration is very well done, the character voices are distinct and recognizable and the overall delivery is a good match for the story.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Great start to a new series.
This is the debut novel of a new apocalyptic survival series narrated by the talented, and my favorite, Kevin Pierce. The relationship between the characters and their individual growing pains are a large part of the story. Joe had been raised to protect women and children. He found that in this new world his sometimes overbearing protection was not always appreciated. Joe was a good man, but he had a few things to learn which he had never considered. Another sub-plot involves what appear to be Middle Eastern terrorists making their way through the territory leaving a trail of dead bodies. What they are doing in the middle of Oregon is a mystery. The character development is excellent and I became quite fond of Joe, Coby and Chloe. This is a great start and I need book two! This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

This average Joe is faced with a couple of tragedies prior to an EMP hitting the country. As the days pass and Joe learns how to struggle through life, his grandma’s letters keep him on track and lead him to a strong, beautiful woman and her daughter. Interesting read and fantastic performance by Kevin Pierce!

Got love Grandma
Up front Grandma takes the cake she one person you fall in love with and like all grandmas she makes you laugh, cry and teach you things you did not know was being taught to you.
Now Joe a man if he did not have bad luck he have no luck at first he finds his girlfriend is having an affair with his best friend and learns when are caught dead in his SUV getting it on when a tree falls on them and kill them. A few days later he find out his grandma has died and to him his world ended with her death. And finally top it all off a few days the world does ends with Iran, North Korea, China attacking the US with both EMPs and security and financial high jacking sending the US and other countries back into the dark ages and most likely Iran, North Korea and China both in ruin from bombing and the destruction of financial institutions.
The only good luck Joe gets is at his grandmas funeral and reading of the will were he learns that he inherit land and cabins of his grandparents who were prepers and a enough letters for him to read for two years from his grandma. For once something good happens then real world ends and there no one to share with for he is in Oregon and his parents are Tennessee so what do you you move into the main cabin and start reading the letters as instructed each day and listening to your grandma from the grave.
This is one awesome story well written and the authors makes the character alive and you become one other and then the narrator weaves the many storylines around each and ever character and create the most perfect quilt that wraps around you and makes you warm, cozy and closer to each character.

Hit and Miss
The story was just plodding along. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It's just, it was nothing different... it was a bit slow paced. it ambled along at a slow pace with not much excitement or action. The narration was stellar the performance perfection. Unfortunately the overall storyline although good lacked anything unique to itself. I'm tempted to get book two just to see if the author was easing me into the story and characters.... at the same time I disagree with this practice to generate more sales. The characters where likeable and I did connect with them but the jury is still out on a 2 book purchase.
