Publisher's Summary

Don't let her age fool you. Maud may be nearly 90, but if you cross her, this elderly lady is more sinister than sweet.

Just when things have finally cooled down for 88-year-old Maud after the disturbing discovery of a dead body in her apartment in Gothenburg, a couple of detectives return to her doorstep. Though Maud dodges their questions with the skill of an Olympic gymnast a fifth of her age, she wonders if suspicion has fallen on her, little old lady that she is. The truth is, ever since Maud was a girl, death has seemed to follow her.

In these six interlocking stories, memories of unfortunate incidents from Maud's past keep bubbling to the surface. Meanwhile, certain problems in the present require immediate attention. Luckily, Maud is no stranger to taking matters into her own hands...even if it means she has to get a little blood on them in the process.

Age Inclusivity Rocks!

I read the first one 'An Elderly Lady Up to No Good' and just loved Maud! So clever, and always underestimated because of her age I just knew this was going to be entertaining and it was , I like that the stories are short , but I'd appreciate a novella or a full novel even. There's not enough material that has the main character being elderly and that stinks ❣️ I hope many people enjoy this so the author will produce more!! Her detective fiction is pretty good as well!

story doesn't match the title

Enjoyed learning more about Maude, but the story didn't match the title. Not nearly as much murdering as the first book. this one was more about redemption than revenge for being crossed.

Why Audible, why?!!

Why have you changed the narrator Audible? The one for the first book was perfect and the one for the second is AWFUL! I will persevere because I love the stories.

Maude is crafty. I don't mean she does decorations

Maude is a well-written character who manipulates circumstances so things go the way she wants. The book is a little don't set in Sweden and includes a trip to South Africa with a safari! Maude , we find, is not above doing a good deed or two.

A spry 80 something lady vigilante with a heart of gold

This book was surprisingly excellent read. I will definitely go back to read the first book of this series because the author is a fabulous writer.

Goes slow

There’s and extremely long and meandering chapter about her trip to Africa that isn’t very interesting and takes a very long time to get to the climax. I do like Maud, and it’s a happy ending, so that’s nice.

Not Quite as Good

I liked the first one much more. The ending fotr this one wasn't satisfying. The end of the story or will there be a third book?

Sadly not an 'old-lady mystery' as advertised

So very strange: This book actually has 'elderly lady' in the title. So imagine my surprise, when it turned out that - while chapter 1 seemed indeed an introduction to a cosy 'old lady crime story' - what followed were hours of 'kid retrospective'. Not just a quick flashback, but hours of telling us about the time the protagonist was a child. (I haven't listened to those chapters,, as I'm not interested in them.)

Only 2 hours before the end, we are back with the cosy old lady mystery. At least, that was my initial hope... but alas: while we are back with the old lady, what we are now told a story about her being on some holiday. No connection with the crime described in the beginning. Why? This is is quite ridiculous, really.

Narrator: well done, but she can't save the story, unfortunately.
