Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Fortune's Island, where the only rule is to follow your heart.

Love is an extravagance Darcy Williams can't afford. She prefers the simple life, which includes waitressing at The Love Shack and avoiding temptation. But when a forbidden part of her past steps off the ferry, her safe, guarded existence is turned upside down.

Kincaid Foster has never gotten over his first love. When he sees the wild, beautiful blonde again, dancing her way around The Love Shack, the memories of Darcy's soft skin, gentle touch, and heated kisses come rushing back. As the privileged son of a wealthy family, Kincaid was too young to stand up to his overbearing father when he and Darcy were together. Now, he's back on the island - free of the family shackles - and the chiseled, big-time lawyer wants a second chance.

But Darcy made a promise to keep a secret from Kincaid - a secret that is now a six-year-old girl who looks just like her daddy. If Kincaid finds out about their daughter, Darcy could lose everything. But she can't resist the man who stole her heart all those years ago. And it doesn't take long before both of them realize that anything can happen on a hot summer night.

Dumb dialogue

This was such a dumb story and dialogue. The heroine was so dumb and the hero, OMG what a loser! How can you be so dumb not knowing the truth! And the h, she was just dumb dumb. The story dragged to the point where I quit listening.

I liked the story and characters but...

Natasha Soudek sounds as if she's full of misery, she's cringe worthy & she makes my ears hurt. I had a difficult time listening to the story, the next book is no better. The characters are 25/26 yrs old and yet they sound old, nervous and garbled, extremely irritating. I will not listen to any other stories that are narrated by this miserable woman.
To be clear, Natasha Soudek is by far the worst Narrator I have had the misfortune of listening to. I wish Audible had the feature to block all books narrated by this person.

Cute story

Cute story, but the narrator is less to be desired. I had to listen at 1.4x the speed.

Terrible narration

Story is very predictable. Meanwhile, the narration was terrible to where it took away from the story.

Voice Amati ruins the story

The storyline is great! The voice is sooo slow and makes everyone sound like they are truly dying. Narrator makes the seven year old sounds like a baby 2 year old. Everyone sounds like they are on their last sentence on their deathbed. It’s painful to listen to but I’m interested in the storyline so I’ll suffer through it.
