Publisher's Summary

Are you ready to take control over your anger? Are you ready to master your emotions? Are you ready to communicate with your partner in a healthy, constructive way without aggression or anger driving your communication?

The truth is that anger is undeniably part of any relationship. Just like any other emotion, anger is a completely natural emotional state, suggesting that your needs are not met or that your goals are somehow obstructed.

The major goal of anger management is not to teach you to avoid getting angry or to suppress your anger but to handle your anger in an effective, assertive way without letting your angry feelings or your aggression come between you and your partner.

Inside, you will discover:

  • What human emotions are and their purpose
  • What fundamental mind frames are
  • What controls your emotions
  • What anger and anger psychology are
  • How different people experience anger
  • Unhealthy ways of dealing with anger
  • Emotional and physical signs of anger
  • How anger affects personal relationships
  • The cycle of anger in relationships
  • How to deal with anger in your relationship
  • And much, much more

Misleading title

This book does not address managing anger in relationships (as the title implies) at all. It talks about types of emotions and is repetitive.
I wasted 1 Audible credit on this to try some self improvement and it left me frustrated.

Do not let this title fool you! This book will in no way help you dealing with your emotions or effective communication with your partner.

Dry and Textbook

This book is good for somebody who is studying emotions. Not a great self-help book for somebody wanting to learn to control their anger when it comes to life. It's a very dry and textbook type, the narrator sounds very robotic. So if you're looking for more of a study type book this is it for you but for me this is not at all what I was needing.

Not helpful at all

Do not recommend if you are looking for any useful skills to use in a real life situation. Mostly just information about what defining anger and all the obvious danger outcomes if not controlled. Offers no useful ways on controlling the emotions.

A waste of my time.

I was hoping for more tools on how to work through anger issues for my own use. The first half is all about the brain and processing anger which was fine to touch base but I'm not trying to get a PhD here. Way too much about the brain and not enough useful information for me.

I would not recommend this book

I would imagine there are more in depth books out there. the title states it is anger management in a relationship. that was really only discussed in the last chapter. there are some self reflecting tools in the second part of the book. I skipped most of the first part in which time was also taken in explaining old theories that were now contradicted by others. Not sure what the use of that was.
